    How would y’all grade it
    I’ll give it about a C
    6.5 on a 1-10 scale
i don't listen to it at all, wasn't much fan of it when it dropped anyway tho.

just patiently waiting for him to drop something new, and see if it is good.

        It’s a 7.5 imo.

Not amazing, but a good album. If they cut it down some would’ve been an 8. I’m looking forward to the next album as Dedication 6 Reloaded is still Wayne’s best project of 2018.

          • I still listen. It’s not an amazing album to listen to. But the journey to get to the release makes it classic to me. There should be a documentary about the entire process.

              • It's a solid 7/10 album with some 10/10 tracks that got bogged down by 4/10 filler tracks. I just wanna hear the OG version now

                • OG version would've been trash. you can hear it in Just Chillin, the OG verses we heard from Start this shit off right and Mona Lisa, krazy, start a fire... yall can have that shit. I actually do think C5 is pretty close to perfect in 2018. It's got bars on bars on bars, emotion, humor, project flows nice like a concept album almost, production is all A+, Wayne's bad habits are kept in check for over 90 minutes lol. That last one alone is a miracle. I listen to D6 and D6R which I love, but honestly theres just so many bars in there that make me cringe... even in the better songs there's still some cringey shit. Even has some goon and pussy/dick talk with no substance. C5 is different.. even the occasional weak line is usually backed up with something powerful or worthwhile. I've been saying since it dropped.. it's way more than I could have ever hoped for in 2018, or really any time.

Funny if you go back and listen to C3, a song like Let the beat build or Phone home has plenty of weak lines but he delivered them with such swag it was undeniable. He raps differently than he used to but overall C5 is top tier Wayne -- and I'm basically a old head with my Wayne. Most shit after his prison stay I am not that into. I always do my best to keep an open mind, and usually my initial hype gives way to steady disappointment to the point that I can't even listen to most of this shit a few months later. On the other hand C5 started out dope and clearly different -- you knew there was quality immediately -- and it's aging like fine wine too. that's my 2 cents anyway.

ppl talk about how it's forgotten already or whatever. that's just the impossible hype receding and the fact that there are so many different Waynes it's impossible to please every fan of every style. to my ears C5 is just good-ass music. low-key classic... which is crazy to say about an album as huge as C5 but that's how it goes because Wayne is like nearly 40 now first of all, and second of all you gotta remember how HARD he fell off since he got out of prison. it was no joke!

Even C2 and C3 ain't a 10/10... closest 10/10 in Wayne's catalog is mixtapes. Specifically Drought 3 and D2. I aint saying Wayne is flowing like 2007 or nothing, but he's doing his thing and he's rapping super dope on C5.

The OG Carter 5 might have had more songs that shake your car lmao and it was 30 songs

                    'Mute' wouldve been great.
'Life of mr carter' would been fire

The part about the OG C5 is accurate. Any album with multiple Christina Millian features and a song like Start a Fire was going to be garbage. And it would’ve been way too long just so they can fit all that garbage on there with the few good tracks sandwiched between. I hope for whatever Wayne does next his team learns quality control because we know for damn sure Wayne’s lazy ass won’t even know what’s on the album.

Yes. and I stand by that. that's my opinion. plus this album helped me get through the rest of the bullshit I was dealing with with certain songs.
