Yes - Quality wise it did. but we should have got 30+ songs and life of mr carter (its sucks wayne stopped part 2 from being released this could have made a huge difference)
Personally I would have liked mute and side bitch but they did not fit the album at all

No - Commercial wise it did not live up to expectations. I honestly dont know why

      - - - Updated - - -

Dedication 6 and D6 Reloaded seemed to do well for free mixtapes. the general public seemed to like them.

They didn't treat this like the final carter... So I'm going to say no. Still a good album, but this should have been amazing with deep cuts and actual hits. From the moment I heard all the songs I knew there wouldn't be any big hits. Idk if they did that on purpose or not, but for an album as huge as C5 all they needed was a song that was just catchy enough and it'd stuck and blew.

Also, they filled it with too many songs and even worst too many old songs with outdated production.

        • 2014 was the right moment to release c5, we had WW back then and songs like dusse, believe me,moment, grindin. So much hype back then

              • Wayne’s Next Album should be called FWA 2: Free at Last it should have Feel Good Vibe but some deeper lyrics on his situation with Birdman & Cash Money

Agree 100% however you're tripping if you think the 2014 C5 would've been anywhere close to as good as the 2018 C5. I mean I think both are pretty underwhelming regardless because they could never live up to the legendary hype but still. What we got was the best form of C5 possible minus some filler tracks.

On that note though I'm dying (actually kinda desperate lol) to hear the original C5 lmao, it NEEDS to leak.

YOU might not have liked it but OG C5 would have done numbers... it would have been a double album so times 2 sales and so it would have probably gone 4-5x platinum. Also all the songs we got besides believe me would not have been on the album!! The snippets were fire also. It probably wouldnt have sounded as "mature" especially with songs like mute but it would be fire

                        • I'm glad C5 wasn't executive produced by Birdman or it would be a mess of pop songs trying to be sentimental. Wayne wanted to create a personal Carter album which is what recently came out, opposed to Birdman's vision of Wayne making one dimensional pop-rap hits/songs.
