I think what he was saying is liking a song just because your favorite artist made it is even if its not good is being a stan. Has nothing with being a fan of Jay-Z but only liking the song because Wayne's on it.
But that all stems from your personal opinion of the song so really there is no clear definition of a "stan " unless the song is unanimously garbage.
