Cortez almost sacrificed his relationship with Wayne because he didn't think Wayne should carry on taking so much codeine. Wayne himself has said that Mack tells him how his stuff is being received by us (all the pussy lines for example). Wayne has said multiple times that he's "listening to the fans for CV" or such like. And who tells him what the fans are saying? Mack Maine and Cortez. There is more evidence for their not being yes men. People just create convenient delusions. They most likely aren't his most abrasive critics but they know how to deal with him, they're his "brothers" who've known him all his life not some parasitic sycophants. And in any case I don't think Wayne is some psycho or teenage girl that'll go mad at the people closest to him for speaking their minds.

Exactly. I think Wayne has a lot of yes men around him, but I dont think Mack and Tez are yes men. I think they are highly opinionated, but I also dont think they have the same kind of influence everyone seems to think they do. Wayne doesnt just do whatever Tez and Mack tell him to do, I think he listens to everyone around him. Should they have let him release Rebirth? You think that was entirely Waynes decision? Doubtful.

People complaining about IANAHB2 but it had some severe bangers on there, plus Love Me was climbing the charts. It's a club record, pure and simple. Waynes lyrics were unimportant. Everyone has yes men around them, but I dont think Mack and Tez are. I think sometimes they make questionable decisions but they dont do it "just because Wayne made it".
