@Kuzz what is your opinion on the album? (if you ever get to read this lol)
Of course I'll get to read this I still pop on most days, but I just read fuck all and don't really post anymore. Not interested in all the bullshit anymore, which 90% of it here is

In terms of FWA well of course C3 is better than this. And in all honesty as it stands I believe I like more songs on C4 than this project (Something I never thought I'd say, but I honestly think C4 has got better with age). FWA honestly I've not listened to it enough times to really comment. I have had White Girl on repeat in the car, I love him spazzing out on that one "Playing scrabble with ya tongue nigga" etc.

So I really need to listen to it all the way through more times before I can really comment, but I just haven't felt in the mood really, some of the songs kinda hurt my hears a little. Wayne spitting on there for sure, but I'm just not sure what I think of it at the moment.

Pick up your heart is dope and He's Dead though.

    • It's funny when people say you are jacking your own fuckin style...

And yall Wayne "fans" actually agreeing with it lol. Who started the singing/rapping ? Weezy. Remember me and my drank you short memory fucks? Lol.

This album is fire man ..anything else said sounds contrived and stupid like I just pointed out. Wayne has invented created done so much that people forget smh. His solace will be in his true fans appreciation anyway not the "critics"

however.. there is absolutely a datedness on waynes music right now.. that he cant quite escape from on a creative level. i think london roads and living right are steps in the right direction.. the sort of formless, melodic thing...

but then thats whats hot right now.. and as much i love waynes content.. and lyrics.. when it comes to melodies hes got nothing on future and thug..

so the question then is, how does he continue to modernise his sound without occupying the same space?

think the easiest answer is a project with one producer.. mannie being an ob vious choice.. but really if were talking about moving wayne into a forward progressive space...

i think kanyes probably the top answer.

wayne working with kanye on a project... would do more for wayne updating his game than anybody else i think.
kayne aint moving forward. future is blazing.. young thug been missin to me for a while now.. i fuck wit his with that song heavy tho laflame

all the old weezy fans are letting their opinions get swayed by the new generation rap fans. its bogus and not even worth arguing. Weezy birthed this new style. the only reason MOST of the people that are huge now, are huge is because of him. im not saying all, but most. you can hear the weezy influence in the way a lot of new rappers. and if they arent rapping like him, they would even admit he was their biggest inspiration. even the biggest names in rap will say wayne is a legend and started this.

think about it. weezy mastered the genre of rap back in the day and got bored with doing the same old shit and havin the same old sound so he was like fuk this rap shit im bout to shock the world and put out Rebirth, illl just rap with some heavy rock instrumentals and sounds. people didnt fuk with it. it was wayy ahead of its time. if it came out this year, people would be like holy shit its actually pretty dope and unique. and he talked about some deep shit on rebirth but people didnt fuk with the sound back then cuz waynes a rapper not a rockstar

          cuz think about it

rap between 2010-2014 got pretty boring and repetitive,
2015 comes and rappers started trying new shit with their raps instead of the same old beats and flows (examples : drakes weird ass flow, kendricks insanely unique album, and pretty much every other rapper came with a new sound this year) people are fuking with that hard now though. people are more into hearing whats gonna be different about their album sound rather than actually focusing on the lyrics of the raps. - this is one reason i think FWA is being over looked. weezys spitting bars on every song. clever ass bars. he sounds like 08 wayne on some tracks even. and people still complaining. hes actually talking about deep shit (without you, my heart races on, london roads).

honestly idk wtf my point was but i just wanted to rant and let ya know i agree with you my niggah haha

LOL no I feel you 100% my dude!

To be honest after hearing TPAB today I can say with full confidence that NOBODY raps as clever as wayne. To the point Im convinced he goes over alot of peoples heads.

And what you said about styles is true. Wayne OWNS the sound of hip hop today lol its like they go in his discography, pick an era and run with it lol then critics criticize wayne for using his own style LMAO.

Overall Wayne has one of the biggest fanbase in most of music. There's alot of sleeper fans but my point is wayne will get his due. Greatness doesn't get overlooked for long.

hahahha. thats what i love about the album. cant stand when a tape/album isnt mixed/mastered properly (DEDICATION 4.) i love how loud and crisp and clear waynes words are over the beats.

i agree wayne is one of the greatest..but eminem can rap flow/lyrics/and cleverness over wayne in circles. not to dismiss wayne- he is literally in my top 5 of favorite rappers. but im also not a stan. i think eminem is one of the GOATs. so yeah..not really disagreeing, but i dont think "nobody" is exactly true

It feels like what Wayne's personal playlist would be lol. Equal parts technical rapping prowess, crazy flow, flashes of insanity, street shit etc" but delivered in a way that seems mostly oblivious to what's popular or current right now. Which is a good thing.

One thing I'll say I don't like is the cadence on some certain parts on songs like, "post-bail-ballin". That stutter flow if you wanna call it. Reminds me of drakes "running -through- the six-...." Flow. Annoying.

great way to describe the tracks fam. i can totally see that. this is how wayne wanted to sound. if wayne was us, i think he'd like this shit, a lot. very nice that the tracks arent gender-sided. i also agree with the stutter/stop flow. its ridiculously annoying. like, dont stop your flow. i wanna hear you spaz out. not stop every 6 words. a lot of rappers are doin' that shit. just like when drake was poppin everyone had that big sean lemonade rhyme style. ex:

i know G4 pilots on a first name basis
In your city faded off the brown, Nino

If I was at the club you know I balled, chemo

I can teach you how to speak my language, Rosetta stone

like, shit was hot when it came out. but then everyone was doin' it. now the new. thing. is. stopping. after. words. migos, future, 2 chains, drake, FUCK man.

                          @imrawdog

kanyes definitely moving forward. yeezus didnt sound like anything else out, or anything hes ever done, and when swish comes out.. itll be like he gets refreshed everytime. whenever kanye drops a project, people are ready and willing to hear it bcos its something new.

wayne definitely doesnt carry that same influence, mostly because people are still still suck on what he did during the 2000s. thats their fault, but some of the criticism do ring true, how much its valued tho.. is another thing.

like without you, for example, that song, structurally, couldve come out any time from 2002-to 2010. stylistically, that song is about 13 years old.

does it bother me? no, its still one of my favorite songs on the album,, but im not gonna deny how dated that structure and style of approach to a song is..

its funny too.. going back to yeezus.. 9/10 songs were shit people never heard before, but the one song that did sound like old kanye, bound 2.. people loved and want to hear more of that.

people dont have that feeling about waynes music, they hear glory and say hey weezys back .. but havent listened to d5 or stfw2.. to know that waynes beeen rapping at a high level.

but i mean.. theres old songs all over the album.

my heart races on couldve come out in 2008.
psycho is 2010.. murda could be 07.. even white girl...

waynes been making glory for years now..

pull up and post bail ballin.. you could probably throw under distant cousins to ransom..

hes dead, london roads, living right, and pick up your heart are the only songs that stand out to me as distinctively 2015, and i love the album, but i dont think its a coincidence that those are some of my favorite records too.
