I kinda agree about the flow, he still did some crazy shit back then man and that emphasis he put like ermmm We Takin' Over (Remix) just the way he pronounced the words if you get what I mean? He doesn't seem to do that at all now.
I completely agree. He still has a unique voice and always will whether he's using autotune or not but I agree he doesn't have that same rasp in his voice that he used to have. That was the signature thing about "weezy." I think that's the most overlooked part about wayne in his prime is not just the flows and wordplay, but it was the way he said it and the "raspness" (if thats a word) in his voice which would give every song to me a laid back feel. That to me is why i can listen to the suffix and dedication 2 so much because that was my favorite "version" of wayne's voice. Then on the drought 3 when he started changing the vocal deliveries yet still having that rasp in his voice, that is what makes it that much more enjoyable to listen to. That honestly to me is the thing i miss most about his 05-08 days was his signature "weezy" voice. It was at a point where I could listen to a song not listening to what words he was saying but still enjoy it just because of how he was saying it and how his voice sounded. So i guess to sum that up to me his voice would always be a "plus" to whatever song he was in and sometimes now if not just an even factor it sometimes brings it down.

Not hatin tho, still love everything he's doing now but to me that's just the one thing that separates him now from then. Everything else from flows and wordplay to me is still up there with his previous stuff.

waynes by far the most influential rapper today. he was on autotune before 808s.. but kanye did it with more polish and more acclaim. he for sure influenced future... and now we got a whole lot of future off shoots.. so as far as today, wayne is definitely number 1.

but once we do start digging deeper, think its pretty obvious that ceelo inspired lil wayne. theres no doubt about that.

      ceelo x ugk x jay z = lil wayne.

This is completely true. I feel like he had more charisma with his old voice then now. He still raps extremely well, but its not as fun to listen to, if that makes sense.

Oh you meant that far back? I agree 1000% . I thought u meant sometime more recent like hustle hard remix that voice. Yeah we takin over the voice plus delivery and flow won't be matched from that era.

I don't think anyone over at his camp or him actually understand how important that unique raspy voice was... And he just doesn't have it anymore. I know Wayne spits fire, he seems to have unlimited flows and word play, that I don't think will ever run out. BUT that voice was just so key, the emphasis he used to put on his words and the way he said them with that voice was a huge part of them old songs.

Like I say I still like Wayne and always will, he one of the best to ever do it and had a huge impact on the game and pretty much influenced most of the youngens that are doing it now, but he will never be back to where he was in 05-09. EVER. He may still spit fire but he will just never be back there. Anyone that thinks so is just dreaming
                You the realest bruh

And they're out here comparing this to C3

I respect your opinion but I completely disagree with your last statement. We ain't delusional for thinking he can come back to original form. I never understood how his voice can be the difference between his Classics and his current shit. FWA was an extremely diverse and personal album where I think he touched on some of his older... sounds. And some I've never heard. He spit some of the hardest shit on Street chains and post bail ballin and so many more and you could just hear the power surging through his vocal cords. Many other recent songs and verses have been the same way yet his voice means that much to some of you? I had to adjust from his hot boy days all the way through to the C3 era and no ceilings and his transition from that to his post jail high pitched voice. But he stil spit fire on a lot of music since then. I don't think that's a fair criticism. He isn't a singer he's a Rapper.

Maybe because its new music and C3 has been around for years

But I would say that more people would agree that it isn't better than C3
