But all that shit is fuckin BORING. None of them have what wayne has. Something I cant put my finger on

Drake sounds extremely annoying nowadays. No lyrics, just relying on cliche flows and mannerisms.
Kendrick sounds THE SAME on every single track. That nasal Yoda from star wars flow with pseudo quasi "poetic" rhymes equating to raps about "the struggle" and black people.... zzZZZ (I'm black btw). I DON'T want a cohesive ambient album from Kendrick. Shit had me slipping into a music induced coma yesterday when I heard it.
Future sounds like he babbling while half asleep at 4 am

Excuse me modern day rap fans who are more interested in "sounds" and "trends", but I enjoy wayne's style. I ENJOY metaphors and punchlines I like to think back at a line that just zipped passed me. I hate this "vibe" music shit thats going on now. All of these cats sound the same which is ironic you ask what wayne is contributing lol

When I put on a Wayne track I'm excited to hear what Wayne has to say. No other rapper does that for me.. pause. Everybody is yelling, vibing, stutter flow with a repetitive chorus, using cliches and more of characters than musicians. I couldnt stand some of wayne's recent releases before S4Tw2 for that reason.. he was sounding like these vibe music ass niggas and lost his touch. Wayne's best friend is a beat, his brain, and no chorus. That shit is magic.

Wayne's the last of a dying bread along with Jay, Nas, Em etc.
hard to argue what youre saying about drake, his production is doing the heavy lifting for sure, and even when he does spit, it sounds boring.

think 6pm in new york. sure hes rapping, but we've heard that before from him. in a way, it stands out, but ive heard no one say thats their favorite song off the album. all the new sounds and flows hes using are a lot more interesting.

as for kendrick, ive been ehhhh for a long time on him. TPAB is the first kendrick project ive truly loved top to bottom, lol and i hate quasipoetic rhymes. TPAB definitely deserves everything its getting, it isnt a casual listen tho. thats an immersive project, high level stuff.

futures incredible tho, beat selection, songmaking, hes got it all. obviously not the lyricist that wayne is, but his delivery is precise, flexible, nimble, muddy.. bunch of stuff that wayne has going for him too.. but the music sounds way newer, way more forward.

but trust me, im with you. i feel like the biggest wayne fan in the world 99% of the time. he does something on tracks that no one else comes close to touching.. tis why if i had to give a stupid number rating to fwa.. id probably go like 7.8.

the what why and how he says things, tops everybody in the game. but as someone who enjoys wayne, and the modern guys.. theres definitely an edge somewhere that they have.. that wayne doesnt.

and i dont blame at all. i think his producers havent grown or evolved with him. the closest would probably be the hes dead beat..that sounds like an interesting relationship.

but mostly, it seems like the producloers are content to give him a beat, and let him rap on it and call it good, over really crafting a song.

        • Future is shit now. All his music sounds the exact same. There is no "it" factor about him. His projects are average, at best.

I never understood how his voice can be the difference between his Classics and his current shit. FWA was an extremely diverse and personal album where I think he touched on some of his older... sounds. And some I've never heard. He spit some of the hardest shit on Street chains and post bail ballin and so many more and you could just hear the power surging through his vocal cords. Many other recent songs and verses have been the same way yet his voice means that much to some of you? I had to adjust from his hot boy days all the way through to the C3 era and no ceilings and his transition from that to his post jail high pitched voice. But he stil spit fire on a lot of music since then. I don't think that's a fair criticism. He isn't a singer he's a Rapper.
Let me tell you just what happened. You read my comment, and that little voice in your head started having a conversation, 'What's this guy talking about?'. Then somehow you've bought singing/rapping into it as if I mentioned anything to do with singing. I don't understand why you don't think it is a fair criticism. I'm the biggest Wayne fan ever, I still got a huge poster of him in my room, everyone of his albums on my wall and I'm 24. I didn't say Wayne sucks now or anything like that, I still listen to his music regular, all of it, old school, prime, new, but it's a completely fair criticism to state a fact, his voice isn't what it was back then, and he doesn't have the same emphasis on words that he used to put on them. And for some people that is quite a big thing.

His voice was very important to me. As a artist, that's one of the key things about performers, their uniqueness with their style & voice. Singer/rapper has nothing to do with it, they are still making music and you are still listening to their voice. Wayne had such a unique raspy voice and the pronunciation he put on words was just epic. As I said he still spits fire etc and I'm not taking away from his talented flows and word play, but his voice just doesn't have the same energy that it did in that era I'm talking about. And no he will never be back to that. So please quote me and make me eat my words if he does, I will happily pay you £20 via PayPal if he does. It's been like 5 years.

                • I think the big difrence is That in the old days C2 Era, he just spittet and it sounded like he dosent even cared he just spittet and it was Hard as fuck! Now you can hear on his voice that he really tryes to kill the mic...
Dark Shades, Eazy E... FIVE letters YMCMB!

Lol I'm glad you know what goes on in my head. All i said is he shouldn't be judged on his vocals because he's a rapper. That criticism is for singers who have good voices. Now calm down dude.
