Let me tell you just what happened. You read my comment, and that little voice in your head started having a conversation, 'What's this guy talking about?'. Then somehow you've bought singing/rapping into it as if I mentioned anything to do with singing. I don't understand why you don't think it is a fair criticism. I'm the biggest Wayne fan ever, I still got a huge poster of him in my room, everyone of his albums on my wall and I'm 24. I didn't say Wayne sucks now or anything like that, I still listen to his music regular, all of it, old school, prime, new, but it's a completely fair criticism to state a fact, his voice isn't what it was back then, and he doesn't have the same emphasis on words that he used to put on them. And for some people that is quite a big thing.
His voice was very important to me. As a artist, that's one of the key things about performers, their uniqueness with their style & voice. Singer/rapper has nothing to do with it, they are still making music and you are still listening to their voice. Wayne had such a unique raspy voice and the pronunciation he put on words was just epic. As I said he still spits fire etc and I'm not taking away from his talented flows and word play, but his voice just doesn't have the same energy that it did in that era I'm talking about. And no he will never be back to that. So please quote me and make me eat my words if he does, I will happily pay you £20 via PayPal if he does. It's been like 5 years.
Well, he does it sometimes, doesn't he?
for example:
Rollin
Levels
Errrbody (remix)

No, only his newest album is average. There's no meaningful tracks on it. Straight generic bangers, it's unlike future to drop something so disgustingly averageLast edited by Im Raw Dawg; 07-17-2015, 12:52 PM.

I think future is good at his style but the reason why he's so popular is because anyone can copy his style. There's so many wannabe rappers nowadays that think if futures style can make it then so can I. And that's why there's so many "futures" in rap today. Everyone wants to be like future cause that's something they can do. No one can just rap like Wayne and copy his style. Even thug, he's more of a future than a lil Wayne. But What I'm saying is future is the best using the style he uses and that's what's hot today but he ain't touching Wayne.

He had that voice naturally still around S4TW and C4 era with songs like Rollin, Grove St. Party, etc. I think what's somewhat lost that comes back up very rarely was his Southern drawl to his speech/words too. His voice has been sounding deeper (listen to the middle of "Street Chains" then how it goes back to high-pitch after that). It sounded deeper and raspy, but not to intimidatingly deep like it used to.
Same way his voice deepened from C1 to C2/C3 era, it could deepen again.

Originally posted by YM Salute View PostHonestly I agree, but again that's up to him for a partial part and the mixing. Putting emphasis on word isn't hard to do again to someone who has the experience Wayne has. The voice comes and goes as pointed out with Levels, You Song, Errrbody Remix, etc. Things to play a role to his raspy voice were lean and the amount of times he performed/toured that gave him that hoarse voice from yelling his lungs out.
