and there is definite value to being from new orleans, or having an appreciation for bounce music when it comes to thinking about you.. its an entire sound and style that comes from a certain place and time..

listening to this old mix actually has made me realised how dope waynes really new orleans bounce style tracks are.. its crazy how well hes got the style down.. i mean.. it effectively sounds almost exactly the sname.. the flows.. the language.. waynes like a new orleans bounce historian when he raps on this shit.

lol also kinda funny, how both bounce tracks on d5 and fwa are called thinkin bout you.. definitely lends itself to that nostalgia..
I hear what you're saying and I listened to that thing u posted. I'm very familiar with that type of music... I love the music on thinking about you , as I've said a million times, I just think the lyrics are weak for 2015 wayne. Listen to some D2 bounce tracks and tell me the lyrics aren't dope as hell. U can have both, it's not like the lyrics have to be shitty on a bounce track. I just think wayne delivered some lazy ass lyrics on that track. On IANAHB2 it would've been the best track on there, but the standards are higher wth every wayne release these days. He's rapping at a C3 level right now... Maybe not the same flow with the same raps, but skill wise he is killing it. New style though. Listen to post bail balling, psycho, London, etc and tell me wayne ain't got his groove back.

and btw- Rick Rubin said kanye sat down and wrote almost the whole lyrics to yeezus in a few hour sessions. He was amazed. I ain't saying the rube is gospel and I know kanye was writing his lyrics by committee for dark fantasy but I think yeezus was a different story

lol ive been saying waynes had his groove back since 2013, so him killing shit is nothing new to me.. but as far as thinking bout you.. i think it serves its purpose. its two short verses, that he used to describe a scenario and a setting. and in vintage wayne form the second verse is stronger than the first.. its definitely not the most rapping ass track on the album.. but i wouldnt call it lazy either.

the song almost works as an interlude for me.. thats the start of the second half, think it works well that way.

as for yeezus tho, hes got song writing credits all over that album. hes never been shy about it. lupes on there,, hes got ab liva, rhymefest...frank ocean..
