waynes definitely not looked at on kanyes level. it helps that kanye has his hands on every part of the culture, raps, beats, shoes, clothes, art, hes outspoken and married to kim kardashian..

but even it was just music, waynes definitely not seen on that level. the whole world is waiting on kanyes next album, meanwhile waynes dropped 3 projects since yeezus and effectively, its mattered to no one but his fans. which is cool and all, but its not the same as being a world wide brand the way kanye is..

no one is waiting to see where wayne's genius turns next, where his next innovation lies, what his next project is going to sound like.. but everyone is looking in kanyes direction, nearly at all times.

the kanye album is a cultural event. wayne projects arent seen that way.

i mean its nearly a fact. kanye does more media, does more to keep his name buzzing, sure waynes done tours.. but kanyes dropped 2 pairs of shows that are reselling for a 1000 bucks.. has the weeknd doing his adidas lookbook.. performed all day at the brit awards.. not some lame players awards..

all you have to do is follow the breadcrumbs on the internet.. follow hypetrak on facebook, or datpiff.. or any music outlet, and look at the disparity on likes and shares between the artist, then go to the website and look at the views, the comment sections..

waynes pull on the internet isnt anywhere near as strong as kanyes right now.. and its in a weird way.. cos while wayne almost solely does hiphop.. he doesnt do the hiphop media rounds.. but kanye who does everything, hits up the radio shows, hes on sway, hes on flex, hes on bbc..

so naw, its not that i dont think ppl care about c5.. but i do think the rabid interest is limited to his fanbase.. i think everyone has an eye out for SWISH tho..

Man I really can't find much of anything in ya post to disagree wit. Fact is Wayne has never been a major "internet artist". Even at his height he received way more hate than love on da net & dat is back when he couldn't do no wrong in my eyes.

Now people like myself who grew up on Wayne's music & wit Wayne as far as age goes finds ourselves growing apart from da guy. Just from da way he dresses he's gone from a show stopper to a show clown. I've been saying it for da longest but Wayne is going thru some type of midlife crisis/Benjamin Button/Michael Jackson never had a childhood phase & it's tarnishing his brand & rep.

Musically Wayne doesn't push da envelope/raise & set da bar anymore like da Kanye's & Jay Z's. Like u said it's an event when they drop. Wayne is more of a go wit da flow type artist these days & I really believe he's lost some confidence. His green screen fetish videos have no luster & do nothing for da song but bring it down. Holly Weezy was a sin & a disgrace. Wtf! Dude needs real friends & new management in da worst way. Just like da Lil Weezyana Fest promo... Why da cartoons? Who da fuq are they trying to reach? Dude acted more of a man as child than he does as an adult. Smh

kayne and wayne both doing iheart radio. wayne also gon be at the billboard 100 festival and has an hour set the player awards was the first annual and he a bigger sports fan than kanye so why not? wayne revamped trukfit cut down on his inventory which is a good move imo. good start atleast. he should only do interviews if they go be cool not if he gon be on some arrogant shit. his team always been horrible wit promo tho remember waym had pics from c3 and just put them on the cover from different photoshoots. wayne thinks he big enough to not promote himself he said that once how he dont need to do that. pay the people that suing even if he feel like its not his problem just to get rid of the black cloud

i definitely think wayne throug that reliving the childhood phase in like 2011-2012.. when the skateboarding thing was just starting, ive got no problem w him skating. skaters are some of the coolest people i know, consistently.

but when he started out.. i felt like he was reaching to what skating looked like to him if he wouldve started in the 80s. the late 80s skate aesthetic, w the radical! and far out! kinda look he was going for..

i think hes mostly past that tho, i dont care too much about the image.. but i do think around 2013 he started dressing cool again, and his music got cooler, i think dedication 5 was a cool tape, it doesnt have the same to the brink energy as sorry 4 the wait.. but it definitely had a lot of cool energy songs on there( dontkill, you song, uoeno)

along w that, ive posted before about him cutting his dreads too.. i figured that to be a sign of things to come, i had dreads for 7 years, and when i cut them off.. i was just read to move again, those shits are heavy. so seeing him doing made me feel like he was ready to be very active... and i think dedication 5 showed that w the beat selection, how he chose beats for the biggest artist (kendrick, kanye, drake, rick ross, )

but at the end of the day, its like you said, waynes music isnt pushing any envelopes right now. he needs to be challenged in a serious way, from a producer, from an executive producer. he obviously still has the physical ability..bult he needs some stimulation.

I completely agree with this man. He's bringing nothing new to the table. He's not gonna be in billboard top 10 if he sounds like any XYZ rapper. So many people have copied his style, that people (not us of course, but the general public) are now tired of hearing it.
