That whole era of Wayne is just fascinating in general, like just the transformation from 500 Degreez to Tha Carter is mind-boggling. It's legit crazy that Da Drought/Carter Files/C1 Sessions all came from the same dude who delivered Tha Carter less than a year later. The voice/beat selection/swag/etc. all just evolved overnight it feels like. You could arguably say The Dedication and The Prefix are like Wayne at his earliest experimental phase breaking the boundaries of the old school Cash Money sound and hungrily growing into the beast he was about to become during that 04-09 run. Legitimately a legendary era of Wayne's career.
