you obviously cannot pronounce lasagna correctly.
you dont pronounce the G, the G changes the way you pronounce the word.
you dont say "lasagna" you say "lasanya" if you were to hear the word not read it youd never know there was a G in it
you dont pronounce the G which means the G is silent

The first line I guess he's just saying that since Ray Charles is a great inspirational pianist, he speaks to us through his music i.e his piano keys.
