  • If Wayne doesn't sell 1 mill first week will you consider C5 a failure?

An interesting thing came to mind tonight, With all the support Wayne has gotten over the years and after mixtape after mixtape there is a strong claim of desire for C5 but will that desire translate to sales? It's easy to say "Fuck Birdman" and "We need C5" but how many people are really going to pay for it once it's out? There has been speculation Birdman didn't want it released because it wouldn't sell. Lets say it does release but after all this time of waiting and the court case as well as everything else that happened along the way to get there it falls way short of 1 mill first week. Will this wait be a failure on Wayne's side? I know "we" on here will buy it but I mean the rest of the world.

Tldr - If Wayne doesn't sell 1 mill first week because all he/we have been through as fans will you consider it a huge failure? This has nothing to do with music quality or content it's just more on the fans and how much desire there is for the project.

Physical copies? I wouldn't be disappointed if it doesn't hit a milli first week.

I don’t care about sells as long as the album is good and I’m a buy C5 on iTunes and the physical CD as soon as it drops just like I have every wayne album

tbh at this point in wayne's career, i think 500,000 first week would be a huge win

I think it would have been had this lawsuit and whatnot come to be. But we're talking waiting on this album for 4 nearly 5 years. and so many people speaking out in support for Wayne. Verbal support is there but if even half of the support that he's gotten verbally turns into financial support he gets 1m+ easy. I don't think he would've got 1m first week before the lawsuit but I would say 350-500 was my original guess. If it doesn't do good numbers it'll feel like the past 5 years of waiting was for nothing if I'm Wayne.

That is hopeful for Wayne but do you think it would be a letdown/failure if he doesn't?

C5 will have no CD'S and will do very well if uploaded on streaming services

500/650k will be a huge accomplishment in this era.

I agree completely. By you saying that do you think 1 mill isn't within reason after all the wait we've gone through and all the support form fans (vocally) ? To me I think he should easily hit 1 mill if half the supporters who are vocal become financial supporters. Even with streaming in mind.. I think 1 mill physical copies isn't out of reach if the vocal fans truly want the album.

Why no cds? I'm more curious about this because I have a unopened cd collection of various albums.

It won't be released physically, it will only be out for streaming.

Cortez Bryant confirmed this in that RapRadar interview. He said they were ahead of the time with streaming and Birdman didn't like the idea
