  • Tha Carter V is the Ultimate Lil Wayne album

I came to the conclusion that tha Carter V is the ultimate Wayne album. After maybe 50th listen to this album i think that it describes wayne as an artist the best. And after the velvet sessions leaked i thought about it. CV doesn't have a strict concept , that way we get pure wayne thoughts, concepts, music because he isn't restricted to follow one concept for the whole album. We get fast songs, slow songs, love songs, bangers, serious songs, deep songs, we get bars, flows , everything and that's just from one artist. And i remembered what he said in tha carter documentary back in 2009 https://youtu.be/nSdJZnbtxg4?t=1774 . Thats almost 10 years from now , so now we know that he is following a blueprint and maybe now is his artistic prime. He may not be commercialy at the same place where he was in 2008 and 2011 but artistically in 2018 we get the best wayne music we've ever gotten. What are your thoughts?

Because it's mixed like a mixtape and not like an album. That's at least a big part of why I can't fully enjoy it

Are you talking quality wise? Or tracklisting?

I've been thinking the same thing about what he said in that carter doc.

now he just needs better beat selection and he's good imo, most of the beats on c5 weren't for me

I agree the fluidity of the songs didn't flow too well coupled with some lackluster production, but it also had some dope production on songs like Dope Niggaz, Open Letter & Demon.

This. Wayne needs chart friendly concepts and beats. He's never really been the one to do that kind of thing as he's always had that shit given to him. He needs to go back to that.

But lyrically I think he was beyond fine.

Is it Mack Maine who selects Wayne's beats and producers?
