I have a love/hate relationship with this album because i have so much nostalgia around it but at the same time it pretty much feels like an album of lackluster singles and not a cohesive project, not to mention some mediocre lyricism. It's high points are really high (the lyricism on 6f7f is still unreal to this day) but it's low points are really low.

Most the Album minus the singles are worst in his career bland lyrics and poor production

Singles were very strong which why it had so much hype

6F7F and instrumentals we were hearing and shit made me think the album was going to be on a whole other level to what it was. Most of the songs are just okay by his standards. Compared to C3 the beats and songs in general just lack passion and soul. I just felt like he could have done so much better. The fact that he isn't on two of the tracks can never be overlooked. I'm not saying I think it's complete shit, if it were just a side album it'd be alright but it's a Carter.

When it dropped I went for so many long walks in the countryside listening to it over and over trying to make it grow on me because I wanted to love it so badly but it just didn't work. I didn't hate it, I just felt really unfulfilled. I knew one guy irl that was as big a Wayne fan as me and he had the same feelings, so did everyone I spoke to.

The only song which gave me what I wanted was Abortion. A few of the bonus tracks had a better vibe too.

It just does't have that spark or that certain something that every other Carter album has.

This facts the sessions + the singles gave u an impression wayne was going hard on this album or rapping about something i have to EMPHASISE the singles r strong How to love, john, 6 foot, mirror , she will

In terms of content C4 is his most bland album he doesn't talk about ANYTHING at all most cookie cutter bars ever no autotune no experimentation nothing its a flat boring album that drags when u listen to it the beats sound so god damn generic as my man said it lacks soul or character

I prefer IANAHB2 MORE THEN C4 atleast that album is funny and some what creative got some interesting beats on it as well

If i'm being honest, some songs from C4 do sound lazy. Still, that album gave us She Will, John, 6 Foot 7 Foot, President Carter, Novacane and Blunt Blowin.
As far as IANAHB2 goes, that album has bangers after bangers. But D4 is his most energetic project out of C4, D4 and IANAHB2

Production and delivery on C4 >>>>>>>> C5. C4 has way more replayability than C5.

Carter V is miles ahead C4 in most ways.
Carter 4 had 6f7f, John and President Carter that are play worthy 8 years later.

All due respect homie, that list is a hot take but I appreciate the subjectivity. 2>3>1>5>4 IMO.

I think the strength of the singles make it a good album. but its kinda like a roller coaster rlly high highs then some lows and mids.

All of the singles were amazing except Its Good, which was just okay. megaman should have replaced its good as 5th single.
(6ft 7ft, John, How to love, she will, Mirror and blunt blowin was a promo single)

The lows on C4 - Intro, Interlude, Outro, how to hate,
Low Mid - so special, two shots, i got some money on me
The mids on C4 - Nightmares of the bottom, its good, abortion, president carter, i like the view, up up and away, novacane
The greats on C4 - 6ft 7ft, John, How to love, she will, Mirror, blunt blowin and megaman

i feel like you wouldnt be saying this if C5 was more popular

President Carter, How To Love, Mirror, How To Hate... are all songs where he's actually talking about some things imo.
