    +++++++

    And - this being my opinion, which is worth the paper it isn't written on - if an artist is going to pick one style and stay with that forever and not evolve the way that works for them, that's called stagnation. Wayne is someone most of us like because he changes it up all the time.

    Because he has so many styles, that is why he has so many fans. If I want him to do Quasimodo and Off Off Off and Crazy every time he sings, because those are the kinds of songs I like, and he does, everyone in the world is going to hate on me because that's not their style.

    In the end what I want for him to do is what HE wants. I like enough different styles that I can always find something I like in the albums and mixtapes I have listened to so far, including some that a month ago I would have told you "weren't my style."

    But once an artist stops exploring and just caters predictably to their audience, I get tired of that real quick. In his case I'm not sure it's possible because so many of us disagree on what we like, even though we are all Wayne fans.

    Wayne has earned his time to do what he wants, and if he wants to do stuff that we all hate, I'd support that too. He's the goat - goats deserve that respect, especially a goat who has been in this as long as he has.

    This is all "in my opinion," because that's all any of this is - opinions. I'd bet 100 bucks you couldn't get any five of us on this Forum to agree on the same top 50 songs of his, that's how diverse his style is and that's how diverse our opinions are.

    BUT - and this is still "only" my opinion - if you think Wayne hasn't "rapped" in years, I don't even know what to say. I'm gobsmacked.

EVERYTHING he has done recently has required some form of autotune. to me, the SECOND autotune touches it, thats no longer rapping. autotune creates a sing-song melody, which is all he has been doing for the last 5 years. i havent heard him just go off literally since ianahb2 era. everything after that has had horrible quality autotune on it when it doesnt need it. glory is a perfect example. if that song had no autotune on it it would be 100000000000X better & make it sound like hes actually rapping, but for some reason they threw autotune on it & ruined his voice for no reason.

      D6 was all autotune & his voice was higher than ive ever heard it. couldnt tolerate that mixtape or d6r. both were awful.
      Hm I get where you're coming from but that wayne has long since gone, especially with the drugs kinda messing up his voice(like i don't think he can rap like the no ceilings days no more lol). You really think PURE RAP Wayne will ever come back? Cause I'd be down but... that's high expectations lol

        Melodic rapping > just rapping. I'm personally tired of people just yelling out of key over beats. Wayne elevated hip hop and made it more musical.

        I actually can't imagine liking something LESS because it's melodic. MUSIC is good.
        idk dude. nothing will beat the straight rapping of say a dedication 2. tht voice is timeless

          dude i dont even expect him to get back to no ceilings days. listen to sucker for pain. that is a PERFECT example of what i'm talking about. professionally produced, he was in an actual STUDIO with engineers & producers that know what the fuck they're doing. didn't have ANY autotune on his voice, no high pitch, just pure RAPPING & he sounded absolutely amazing. that is one of the only verses i can tolerate post 2015 from him because it actually sounds like the wayne i know & remember. he is 100% capable of getting to at least that point again its just either who he's around, who works for him, or who he thinks we want to hear thats ruining it. i guarantee you when he walked into the studio to record sucker for pain they told him no autotune & keep the voice mellow & chill & just rap. cuz if it was up to him he woulda had the job-lot family dollar autotune on, & been screeching at the top of his lungs rapping 1984372387x words a minute sounding absolutely obnoxious like he has been.
