Does Wayne or the producer pick the autotune?

Idk bruh, I think the autotune isn't what it used to be. I think for Wayne it used to be a stylistic choice. But now his voice seems pretty worn out so maybe he thinks he needs it.

It could be Wayne himself recognizing it or it could just be an engineer adding it on and deciding to do it later. Wayne's probably got a team that just stays near him whenever he's ready to record that more or less know how to work with his voice in the way Wayne wants.

I remember someone asked his producer on IG if he can make it less high pitches, he said something like he can’t do that or it’s just Wayne’s voice

It definitely depends on the vocal range at that time, and the harmony. If he's plain ass rapping during a verse, it's not gonna sound right. If he's harmonizing his vocals, it'll add pitch correction to his voice. That's why Travis Scott uses auotune and reverb so well. He's almost a master at it at this point.

the fact that you can say that it sounds hard & dope absolutely blows my mind. it sounds fucking horrendous dude. like twiggz is sayin in the post below.. travis scott has fucking mastered autotune. that's how wayne SHOULD sound at this point for the amount he's used it since 2007/8 but instead he went backwards with it and now sounds like all the new retards that have no clue what they're doing & just turn it on & talk into the mic. wayne doesn't sound good with it now because he literally forgot how to use it and his producers are absolute garbage at mastering & producing his vocals.
