• The Case for Funeral

had to do it.

Darkside just came on on shuffle and i know Zimmie doesnt like it, but wayne is still wayne. darkside is still wayne. im sorry but dude is still the best rapper on the planet. kendrick came on and tho he is a genius he is not the best rapper.

old jay came on and jay is nasty but wayne is still wayne. dude still cant be touched. there is none and was no better rapping than funeral by anybody in the industry. dude is still untouchable. some real deal A+ songs.

funeral(intro)
mahogany
harden
wild dogs
piano trap
darkside
stop playin wit me
waynes world

are legit pretty much perfect songs.

cant get this quality by anyone other than wayne

the industry is not giving him the credit he deserves and i just mean the countless so called "hip hop" experts with these radio shows and instagram pages, podcasts, and on social media. theyre clouding everyones proper judgement. wayne is still the best rapper. he needs his flowers for funeral.

At least 50% of people are basically sheep and adopt whatever opinion they hear and see others adopting.

But yeah the good songs on Funeral are just brilliant. There is no bad rapping on the album. So many styles. It's just a messy tracklist and sort of average beats that take away from it.

Do you think there'd be a thread titled 'The Case for Funeral' on here if everyone loved the album?

Poor artist how? He's long since perfected his craft, still gives us vintage Weezy. He's always trying out different styles and trying to be creative in different ways. There's more to being an "artist" than beat selection and sticking to the same formula.

i think he means in terms of song structure and crafting a song

But how?
Aint Got Time or Dreams are two recent examples of perfectly structured/crafted songs that aren't totally generic sounding. Every one of the songs mentioned in the OP are well structured songs. He just does a wider variety of stuff than other artists and is always experimental with his music.
