I agree with you to a large extent i do like C5 and i do rank it over C4 personally but definitely not on the merit of the sonics wayne does sound like shit throughout c5 his voice barely projects and his delivery is hella boring but i really appreciate the substance, concept and lyricism (let it all workout, mess, perfect strangers, dont cry, dark side of moon, demon, cant be broken, what about me, open letter, took his time, mona lisa, hittas, dope new gospel, dedicate) being some lf my favorites

I think thats why i hate Funeral so much because all the substance and interesting concepts are completely absent and were left with waynes shitty vocals and word vomit Funeral is probs first project that made me really consider and Understand where you come from.because before Funeral i definitely would have been hating on you (pretty sure u can find posts where i was)

But Funeral opened my eyes massively to the issues of Waynes music these days especially regarding his voice, mastering and song structures

what do you think about his voice on Timeless, Perfect, Pussy Talk, Body Bag?

I think Timeless and Body Bag are dope, I don't remember those other two. I think he still can sound dope when he doesn't rap too high pitched, and sometimes the high pitch voice fits too. U can still hear that his voice is weaker than before, but like I said earlier i'm used to it.

THIS THIS THIS SO MUCH THIS ^^^ the structure is so absent from his music no one takes away waynes ability to RAP but the fact he cant articulate a song on topic and with a focused idea behind it hurts his album quality so much its one of the reasons i love BIG WORM its got melodies its got a topic its got focus like so many of the VELVET tracks

you 100% right with this his voice has been all the way fucked for to long haha losing all his teeth + the heavy smoking definitely have contributed to this not to sound ignorant but if you rich as fuck why not hire someone to fix your damn teeth and help bring your vocals to where they used to be or somewhere close my understanding is post malone had a similar issues that man smokes cigarettes but hired someone to adjust his vocal range as a result of it i dont know shit about vocal coaching but surely its a thing right?

yeah that could be a good idea, I know The Weeknd had a vocal coach for years and he became much better live. and yeah Wayne could probaly fix it but he don't give a fuck.

Like there he's not doing all that much 'singing' but he's clearly aware of what notes he can hold and how to push his voice.
I feel like nowadays he tries to hit too many different notes and shit and generally 'shouts' a lot more when performing, and on a lot of recorded songs.

His biggest problem today is his voice, I know it's controversial here but it's so evident. It's what I keep hearing from people who don't fuck with Wayne, even people who used to fuck with him say he's too high pitched now.

and let's not fool ourselves we know it too. I remember when Fire flame and carter 4 dropped and members here complained about him rapping high pitched. No one had that complaint for Rebirth, and trust me there were ALOT of complaints for Rebirth.. and it's only gotten worse since then. Idk why he chooses to rap high pitched like that, his constant smoking has definitely made his voice weaker + all the other drugs ain't helping that situation neither.

Could it be that he lost his voice so much that he has problems pronunciating words without rapping high pitched? Cause you can definitely hear the consequense of smoking blunts 24/7 in his new interviews where he talks normal.

Tracks like Mahogany are killer and could blow, alot of people here will blame his team, sure they fuck up alot but I blame his voice. You are probaly so used to his voice that you can't even realize it. But his voice sounds weird and mushy, it sounds tired and high pitched at several points.

His flow and bar game is on point here, but his delivery is inconsistent, and his voice is terrible. It sounds fine to us, cause we've been conditioned to it over several years since C4 dropped. But show this track to the average music or hip hop fan and the voice will definitely turn them off.

This is why Lil Wayne can't be popping like he used to, it's not his team, it's his voice, and only a few can actually tolerate that shit.
