  • Numbers are meh, but considering it's only 28 minutes.. i would consider this an EP not a proper LP, also no physical copies available, no cds, no merch bundles, no vinyls, and many wayne fans don't care about RTK...

    Funeral did 100k+ easily

(remember, Chris Brown and Young Thug 'Slime & B' joint project sells 19K first week)

Slime & B was available for free (Datpiff and Soundcloud) before streaming platforms. Additionally, it had a huge hit with "Go Crazy" and was over 350K in sales in a year.

This project not seeing that. There's no way to spin this to make it look good.

The sales aren't "meh" they're ass lol. And it's an album (or eventually a mixtape, some sites are billing it a tape but Tune and RTK referred to it as an album). And majority of units come from stream units now anyway. And bundles stopped counting in October 2020. Also Funeral numbers aren't impressive either. 139K wasn't even a top 10 first week in 2020, Em and Kanye (2019) blew it out the water first week. And Funeral was barely at 500K by Jan 2021. Many albums that did less first week did alot more overall.

And I ain’t ask for this tape at all, never liked Rich, but I know damn well Iont want no fuckin Wayne and Hov project either. I’ll take a song or two…and honestly at this point…Idek bout a Drake tape no more unless it’s sumn like WATTBA. Modern shit to turn up to. Idk if Drake even does that now. Every goddamn song on TFB is better than Way 2 Sexy. Shit prolly YOLT too.

I wish this shit actually got a proper rollout but it ain’t nun but a lil side project fr. Yaw act like he gotta move on yaw time.
i promise you the younger generation does not give a fuck about this project lol. Shits selling 12-15K, mostly stream units. Steeam units reflect it being listened to, nobody is listening lol. I don't need C3 level Wayne (I agree its a new time) but I need shit better than this.

            • if we being honest, what Wayne album sold well except C3, C4 and C5? Wayne was never consistently good seller. So Funeral and TFB numbers don't surprise me one bit, i'm even surprised C5 did that much. No one cares about Wayne anymore because his style has been done to death by many other people. He is not unique anymore, 90% of rappers try to look and sound like him. His team is trash, they don't know how to promote him even if their life depends on it + his image and some of the music he's releasing hurts him aswell

              • His team would never learn though. They need to actually promote an album early instead of tweeting it a week before. IANAHB3 needs heavy promotion.

Forreal. I think Wayne needs better features on albums. People that are relevant and will bring streams in.

Ex: Kanye, Drake, Young Thug, Lil Baby, Future, Travis Scott, etc.

Plus I think you’re right about sales. Didn’t IANAHB2 do like 250k first week?

That’s just first week. Pretty sure it sold around C5 in total sales, if not more

Yeah, as of last year, it was certified 2x platinum. Couldn’t find anything on current stats though. Just goes to show having Drake & Future will help with sales though

Wayne has never been a consistently good seller? Aside from the majority of his albums being platinum or multi platinum for more than two decades, literally being one of the biggest selling artists of all time with at least 160 million records sold (probably way more), Wayne has never been a consistently good seller. Wayne is not unique? Just ignore everything else that has dropped this year, focus on the style of this "light work" project with a young 'trap' style 'mumble rapper'.

Stop overreacting to the low sales of a 20 minute album full of two minute songs that practically zero money or effort has been put into the marketing of. The only reason that I, a big Lil Wayne fan, even know this exists is because I check LWHQ, granted I don't use social media. Stop acting like marketing, building interest and awareness don't matter. They obviously know this but didn't spend a whole load of money trying to push this side project that they didn't expect to sell that much anyway.
