This doesn't sound like a Carter album whatsoever. Carter V clears this by a lot. Probably 5 songs worth listening to more than once. Almost as bad as 'Tha Fix Before the 6'

Honestly, I’m surprised more people aren’t talking about how good his rapping is on this album. On C5, some of the verses felt a little thin—kind of like FWA, which had fire moments, but didn’t always have the depth of his earlier work.

Tracks like “Dope Niggaz,” “Uproar,” “Famous,” “Hittas,” “Dope New Gospel,” and “Let It All Work Out” were solid, but the lyrics weren’t always as sharp or colorful as shit like “Mona Lisa,” “Let It Fly,” or “Open Letter.” It was a vibe all the way through, however, and the best work he's done since prison.

So far, C6 feels more lyrical and effortless. I’m into heavy wordplay, cultural references, and hard bars—but above all, I love when he delivers with soul. I'm getting that on a lot of tracks here. Am I gonna skip the Weezer remake and the U2 collaboration? Probably lol. This doesn't strike me as a cohesive album in the same way C5 was, but whatever he's going for, I'm into it. Look, I've been waiting nearly 20 years for him to go back to his OG flow (with soul, with depth, with humor) and there's a handful of songs here that are providing that.

I'd rather have substance than flash. It's good if you can manage both, but I'm not sure Wayne can anymore... so give me hard bars and OG flow and I'll be happy.
You're giving him a pass cuz he can't "do it anymore", fuck all that, he said he deserved the superbowl, so SHOW US WHY

Exactly. It's the same every time. The irony is, if people heard Wayne's flow on some of these C6 tracks 5-10 years ago, they'd have said he's back to pre-Rikers form. No joke. I've been listening to Wayne forever, I've been a member here since 2012, I am HARD TO PLEASE. Believe me. I've been through enough Wayne releases that I try to not get overly excited during the honeymoon period, so to speak. Ever since Rikers, his albums tend to fizzle out over time, for me. Even parts of C5, his best work since No Ceilings, can be a little cringe now.

Is no one talking about how Kodak Black gave Wayne his worst feature verse ever. That verse was terrible.

And I understand why he's trying to put his kids on his albums but it's got to stop, they are no good
