This is the "Best RAPPER Debate Thread"....

Kanye is a genius, he's very creative with his music but he is not the best rapper, dead or alive.

Eminem is definitely considered up there with the best by most people, but he did a lot for rap because he's white and that's obvious, his lyrics were more assosicable for white people, they were different, and his skin colour did reach out to white fans. Before I get hate from that troll, yes I am white.

Basically there is no ONE best rapper because not everyone will agree, opinions of what you like in rap will influence who you think is the best. People who like storytelling about a struggle are going to tell you Pac is better than Wayne but someone who likes the punchlines and clever metaphors would tell you Wayne is better than Pac. It's all personal preference at the end of the day. To me Tech N9ne is the best rapper of all time, but I know a lot of people dislike and even hate Tech's music.

I agree with you except the Tech N9ne thought. I say the best rapper is the one that raps so well, not only he makes you want to rap.. but his achievements. Like in Basketball, MJ's achievements. I think 2Pac is the greastest of all time because his power, achievements, and everything he's touched or left over.

I agree with you except the Tech N9ne thought. I say the best rapper is the one that raps so well, not only he makes you want to rap.. but his achievements. Like in Basketball, MJ's achievements. Ah I get you but Tech's rapping ability is insane...

But he's got deep lyrics, a flow that's just out of this world and his delivery is so passionate.

As far as acheivments go he is the best selling independant rap artists in the world with over 1 million albums sold. He's done like festivals and critics have said he has out-shone Jay-Z and people who were headlining. Also his live shows you just need to watch a few videos of how much effort he puts in to them.

But again that's just my opinion as to why I feel Tech is the best. He's done so much with no real big breaks and he puts so much effort in to his albums. He goes through hundreds of beats and selects the ones he wants, creates an idea on what the song will be about then writes his lyrics before eventually recording them, he puts a lot of care in to his work.

Again true but I think it's Tech's voice is what that has many sleeping on him. Like hearing something important.. but not yet reacting because lack of character in his voice.

I don't know if it's his voice so much, I mean he's been called a devil worshipper many times, and where rap normally appeals to a black audience more than a white audience Tech makes music that appeals more to a white audience, it's just different so to speak. He uses a lot of effects on his voice and the songs as well. But it could be many reasons as to why people sleep on him, maybe people just don't pick up how complex his lyrical construction really is, if you listen through a song on repeat like 5 times in a row you'll begin to notice it more, and I think the voice obviously is just down to personal preference.

Yeah. But honestly sometimes it doesn't matter. His voice is annoying at times.. but his song Cry Baby is why he landed on my Top Ten list of all-time.
He's a strictly independent dude.

More so though, Method Man lyrically will be forever in the Top 5. No one seen to remember he was one of the best in WU-Tang. And maybe the only solo rapper to be on All Eyez on Me & Ready 2 Die.

Yeah, I also forgot he's a MidWest rapper. He seems a little West Coast, or San Diego like. But he do remind me a little of ICP mixed with Immortal Technique.

I love Tech and he has one of the sickest flows and multis ever but I feel like he wasted so much talent. He does the weirdest shit and wastes his talent on his fucked up songs. He's shown his amazing capability on songs like The Beast, Riot Maker, One Good Time, Why You Ain't Callin Me, but iunno, I just feel like he wastes it.

@Makaveli. - Yeah you pretty much nailed it with the ICP/Immortal comparison of Tech haha. I know Meth is just one of those guys you can just vibe to and enjoy everything he does.

@Sentus - He doesn't waste his talent at all in my opinion, he comes with something different to other artists in any genre, he expresses himself with everything he does, that's what music is about and to me that's what makes him even greater.

Possibly, but he wouldn't be Tech N9ne then. On Alucard he states - "I am more than just a rapper, I will be now and yes I will be after". He is more than just a rap artist. To say Tech should just straight up spit would alter him and his music very greatly.
