Wayne doesn't crack top 50? Funny.

    Again, going by what criteria?
I'm talking how long they were in the Game. Approx. The same amount of time. In that period Jay has dominated Wayne.

Currently commercially Wayne is better but Jay's quality>>>Wayne's still.

He's not top 50. His career is mediocre.

Okay. So in about 10 years it'll be fair to compare the careers of Diggy and Drake? Do you really believe that?

And I'm not saying Wayne puts out quality 100% of the time. I don't believe anyone does. But a lot of what Wayne has done as a rapper certainly merits him as one of the best. If we're actually judging with skill and not solely subject matter.

Lil Wayne, Drake, Chance the Rapper, Skooly, Rich Homie Quan, 2 Chainz.

        Diggy?
But if they're in the same era roughly and the same amount of years then yes it is fair.

Two rap acts have a 100% discography.
I'm talking as an overall rapper. Career, Skill (Technique), Sales, lyrics (Which encompasses subject matter) and influence.

Based on those categories in conjunction Wayne isn't a top 50 rapper.

No, that wouldn't be fair. No one compares Bow Wow to Jay, I mean, his first album was released one year after Wayne's. Bruh you can't compare kids to adults. No one takes kids seriously. Especially back then when no one took kids or the south seriously.

And honestly, Wayne has one hell of a career, skill, sales, and undoubtedly influenced the wave of punchline rap being utilized today. Note, I didn't say he invented it, but who's going to argue it didn't blow up because of him?

Again, because he hasn't been on top of his shit lately doesn't take away from what he's shown and still shows from time to time.

I get it, you hate Wayne. Cool. But you come off as a bitter hater.

No one compares Bow Wow to Jay cause no ones dumb enough to say he's on Jay's level. The hell I can't compare their careers. Both been in the game the same time, I see no problems tbh.
Wayne hasn't had a hell of a career tbh, as a lyricist he's average at best for the majority of his career, sales over the last 16/17 years are only around 12 million. his influence on punchlines I dispute tbh, I attribute it more to Big L but whatever.
Actually I couldn't careless about the quality of his recent work. Until he has a classic he ain't ever being in GOAT talk.

I'll admit I only like a portion of Wayne's career. I'm not a hater, don't be melodramatic. Bitter, naw just my opinion.

But using your logic they should be compared. It's not fair. It's like purposely putting them at a disadvantage.

"LOL! They didn't sell as much as Jay back in the late 90's early 00's!" No shit, no one took them seriously. Back then Wayne and Bow were makin' songs together. There's a reason Jay wouldn't have made a song with them back then.

And I'd expect you to give that credit to Big L and not Wayne. Before Wayne, everyone wasn't using punchlines. Since Wayne, everyone is. New and old rappers alike. Be less biased.

C2 is a classic. Many consider C3 a classic. I don't, but it could have been had it not been for the leaks. But I mean...a disk of songs doesn't automatically constitute what makes for GOAT talk. Because a vast majority of his songs haven't made official releases they should be ignored when considering his influence in music?

              That's stupid.

When did I say you shouldn't compare them? I said the reason why they aren't compared.

Meh there's a reason why they weren't taken seriously tbh.

Meh I'd give credit to Big L most seeing as he made punchlines popular. Props to Wayne if you really want it

C2 is not a classic. No one thinks C3 is a near classic. If's and but's lol. At the end of the day C2 isn't a classic and C3 sure as hell isn't. Stop being so biased.

Actually having a classic shows you have consistency, it is very important. All of the GOAT's have classics most even have multiple classics.

Not stupid tbh. People judge artists on albums. It's Wayne's fault he performs on his mixtapes better.

Arguing with Frank is pointless lol. He has his opinion and you aren't gonna change it, so just leave it at that.

(Not meaning that as a knock on you Frankie Just saying lol)

Because they were young they weren't taken seriously. I don't believe you really would stack them up against someone who was far more relevent at the time and in in the more popular region at that.

And Big L didn't make punchlines popular. Stop it.

C2 is indeed classic. Any reason why it isn't? And I see plenty of people label C3 a classic.

Having a classic was important back before the game changed. This isn't the '90's early '00's anymore.

It is stupid. People used to judge artists on albums. No one really does so anymore. And Wayne is so much more than just his albums. To take away everything else just to go "lol @ his albums" is stupid.

Fuck yeah I compare them. Age really isn't a factor. Hov is 40 odd and he can rap circles around most rappers in their twenties, most recently Cole and Aubrey.

If Big L didn't bring punchlines to the forefront of rap who did. Lol if you say Wayne.

C2 isn't a classic. I can see a major reason----> it simply isn't good enough to be compared with albums like 36 Chambers, Illmatic or MMLP.

                        Nah, you don't tbh.

Still important tbh. Fewer classics dropping but still important.

People still judge predominantly on albums. If they included mixtapes, 50 Cent would be a goat contender. He has a classic and is the gawd of mixtapes. But people don't so he's overlooked.
