just because an artist is signed to a major label doesn't mean they can't be considered underrated
for example cyhi da prynce, he's signed to def jam under Kanye's GOOD music label, but how many people have actually heard Cyhi's work, mention him around anyone you know and 8 out of 10 will say, who?
Underrated is something or someone that deserves much more respect than people will allow. It's peoples perception of the artist, not the label who signs them.
