15. Bow Wow
Former teen heartthrob turned “gangsta” rapper Bow Wow has spent the past 5 years on a personal crusade trying to convince fans to take him seriously as a rapper. But his effort seems forced, contrived and annoying as hell. The underlying issue with Bow Wow is that all of his kiddie fans from the early 2000s have grown, and he hasn’t. He has no identity and suffers from Napoleon complex, it also doesn’t help that his mentor JD suffers from the same thing.
# 14. Lupe Fiasco
Every time he spits we nod, yet every time he speaks, we cringe. He snatched Nas’ baton of being hip hop’s ultimate smart-dumb rapper. A rapper who couldn’t even fight his record label yet had the moxie to lam-bast the President of the United States. While trying to defend his comments about calling President Obama a ‘terrorist’, Lupe went on several media outlets explaining his thoughts, however, the Chicago MC failed to illustrate his point and ended up sounding like Emmitt Smith analyzing games on ESPN.
# 13. Jay Z
Hov like his buddy MJ don’t belong behind the executive boards, they both have tendencies to ruin franchises (Def Jam, Wizards). And Hov also has an issue with putting himself out there before his artists. Jigga has two albums coming out soon (1 solo and with Kanye) which seemingly put his artists J-Cole and Jay Eletronica on the shelves. Hov is behaving like an old rich guy that’s on his death bed rushing to get his Will out there before he croaks, and with father time ticking on Hov it’s not so far-fetched. There’s no question Jigga is in the pantheon of all time great MC’s, but his utter disregard for promoting his protégé’s warrants him a spot on this list.
# 12. Lil B
Some things are just unexplainable, Lil B is to Hip Hop what William Hung was to American Idol; a running joke that turned both into celebrities, only difference is Lil B has inexplicably kept up his celebrity status and sky-rocketed into an international star. The incoherent and mumbling Based-God has made nearly 300 songs, and fans have been patiently waiting for the English version of all them to be released.
