Lyrically- good
Conceptually- good

However every song sounds the same and no features to break the momentum no artist can pull an entire project and Cole is over doing it with this lame 'no features' shit and if you do go the no features route you better come thru with a range of sounds

It sounds more like a sequel to 4 your eyez and not its own project

I never was a fan of j cole music friend tbh I find his music boring it puts me to sleep I prefer Kendrick over j cole anyday only songs I like from him were in the morning and jodeci and I only liked those songs because of drake he renegaded L Cole on his own tracks

see as long as you can see how conceptually it's good and lyrically that's the biggest thing to me, your points are fair and that's your opinion, as long as you can present a reason and you did, no problem with you thinking its a 5.

To me it's just refreshing to hear stuff like this because not many people do it now and like he said, trap beats are hot, nice to hear something different to me even if the beats sound similiar.

I like the messages he's putting into the songs, i'd give this a solid 8 rn, may change the more i listen and let it digest

I like Cole because his subject matter is very grounded and realistic but he really is doing nothing interesting sonically everything he does SOUNDS the same and they talk shit about Trap dudes for sounding the same when Cole just dropped the same album twice he needs features and diverse production so he doesn't come across as 'boring'
