is the new thing to drop short projects now? drake drops a 2 song project and now chainz drops a 4 song project?

I think Travis Scott started the trend in 2015 when he would drop 2-4 songs at a time leading up to his albums... the reason everyone does it is because now a days is a lot harder to drop 1 single and have it catch on so when they drop a few one is bound to catch on and that usually is turned into a lead single for the album.
