I liked Bastard better, but that's just me. And yes, Recovery does get a lot of hate, but I don't hate it, it's just not one of his best albums in my opinion.

There are PLENTY who think the same as me. All Eyez on Me is definitely not Pac's best album. It had too much average content and filler tracks. And Life After Death had filler and mediocre content as well.
