  • If music ended today...

What 5 albums would you put in a time capsule to leave so the future could understand our culture/era or generation?

    ___________________________________________________________________________

This isn't a "your top 5 albums" discussion.

What 5 albums would you want the future generation of people to hear, that would help them understand our current culture?

So don't put no extra underground ass rapper in your list.

Also try not to put alot of 90's albums.

This is current gen music to be shown to the future. This isn't Back To the future

    Here is mine.

    1. Tha Carter III (I wish I could put the C3 Sessions, but it wasn't an album, so oh well...)
    2. Kush & Orange Juice (I know it's a mixtape, but whatever)
    3. Man On The Moon: The End of Day
    4. Watch The Throne
    5. Good Kid M.A.A.d City (Not the biggest fan of Kendrick, but if people are comparing this album to Illmatic. I mean why not put it on my list? The album is really good also, I didn't think I would like it.)

Shoutout to DeadEndHipHop.com! They came up with this discussion on their facebook page!

If it should describe our era in music it shouldn't be all hiphop
but if you want to do it within hiphop that's something else

      1. Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy - (Will show them how musical our generation has become....we went from Boom Bap to Cinematic sounds that improve the listening experience)

      2. Kid Cudi - Man on The Moon - Show them that our age was a experimental one also...it's not always about the fad or what is the norm but sometimes the crazy/weird can also be dope

      3. Kendrick Lamar - good kid, m.A.A.d city (Current West Coast Torch bearer and Hip Hop last "hope")

      4. 50 Cent - Get Rich or Die Trying (No better example of beef and what it does to the creative process)

      5. Jay Z - Blueprint - My Favorite album of all time...

      5 isn't enough though..
Mississippi x California x North Carolina

Me neither but if it's just the era it would be a lot of music I don't even listen to/know
