I know a lot of you guys aren't going to like this band because it's indie rock/folk, but hopefully you'll listen to one of these songs and realise how great they are.

The album these songs are from (In the Aeroplane Over the Sea) may be the most depressing album ever tbh.

(PS: the songs are about Anne Frank).

Sounds amature to me. Lyrics sounds stupid, like they are aiming of being different and unique, but to me it's just weird. It's not bad music, but I wouldn't find myself listening to it. Lead singer is average.

Yeah, those are the usual critiques people have of their music when they don't like it.

I can't counter that tbh. If it sounds amateur to you then I can't change that.

But for me the album is a masterpiece because it's so simple: even though any novice guitarist could play the chords, here they are done in such a unique way. I feel the same about the lead's voice; it's not an atypically good one, but it has this nasally feel about it that makes him seem tortured.

As for the lyrics, I think they all have much deeper meanings -- like I said, the whole album is about Anne Frank. It's actually really depressing if you listen to the songs whilst reading the lyrics.

Singer is below average, that beat hurts my ears and the lyrics suck tbh. Pure garbage IMO.
