A pre-VMA party turned violent Saturday night, when former Death Row Records head Suge Knight was shot inside of 10AK nightclub in West Hollywood. While the circumstances of the shooting are unclear, it's been reported that Suge walked himself outside-- despite suffering from 6 gunshot wounds --where a cop found him and walked him to his vehicle.
From there Knight was brought directly to surgery. As of 5AM this morning, it was said that the mogul was still in the ICU, but he was expected to recover from his wounds.
Witness and family accounts say Knight was shot in the stomach and arm. While it was initially reported that he was shot only twice, sources now confirm that Suge was hit six times.
Chris Brown was hosting the vent in question, and earlier in the night, The Game was barred from entry, which resulted in a confrontation between his crew and security.

Suge Knight's family has released an official statement on the shooting, indicating that while Knight has lost a lot of blood, he is currently in a resting state. The message also asks that Suge be treated like a human at this time, as his negative media portrayal tends to overshadow him.

The family of Suge Knight ask that you keep Suge in your prayers and to stray away from the negativity portrayed by the media. Suge is currently resting and has lost a lot of blood, he's human. He's done a lot of things for the community and the culture as a whole so we ask that you respect that.
Reports from TMZ indicate that police suspect gang ties are related to the shooting, citing both Suge and Game's affiliation with the Bloods. Chris Brown was also pictured with a red bandana at the event, and was said to be throwing up "gang signs".
