The nominations aren't based on quality but sales and impact of the artist that year. Nicki has no album out, while Iggy blew up this year.

She is in no way the #1 female rapper though and you know that. Her debut album just passed 376k sales in week 24 of being released. Nicki's debut albums sold the same number in its first week. Comparing Iggy to Nicki is like comparing Pitbull to Jay-Z. Pitbull has more hits and more nominations at shows like this, does that make him the #1 rapper above Jay?
