X is a legend. He gave Meek Mill his whole style. Like a younger X on the East side with trap production, different influences too. I think he was in way too deep with the music industry man, Dave Chappelle said so many people have prices. As long as the money is good they'll do whatever the people above them tell them to do. And that's when it becomes wrong. As soon as you forget why you started being an artist and only do it for the money then you are fucking up.
He made his big mistake when he tried to go against (so tired of saying this name lol.) So they fucked with him big time, he seems like a strong dude but who knows. I think it's one of the main reasons he turned to hard drugs and that's his story I guess.
I love on The Breakfast Club when he says he would strangle Drake. This new school stuff sounds great because of the production quality but it lacks the soul of classic Hip-Hop and will probably never have that again. The closest I see someone coming to a 90's artist is Joey Bada$$. Pro Era is just overall dope, also Control System with Ab-Soul.
Hip-Hop wasn't so much about gimmicks and marketing schemes at all in the 90's, it just so happened that struggling black youth had a knack for creating and sampling music from older music to make new music. Most of them couldn't really "play" instruments so to speak -- like pick up a guitar and strum away or play the piano raw type. Sampling made Hip-Hop, also drum machines. They spoke about real issues in society and really cared for the culture. Who knew they would create the genre for some of the best music on the planet?

Big business nowadays. Guess it can be a positive thing. People all across the world love rap now, and that culture came from almost nothing. Still you have all these fucking lame dick-riders who have no individuality (like basic bitch dudes) who'll just ride with anything that's hot to be "cool." Worst types of people man!
