I feel like there will always be a overflow of trash in music.. but we got alot of great projects these past years, I agree Ctrl is dope af, even though it ain't rap. I would recommend these albums:

Isaiah Rashad - The Sun's Tirade
Little Simz - Stillness in Wonderland
Joey Badass - All Amerikkkan Badass
Nxworries - Yes Lawd
Childish Gambino - Awaken My Love
Kendrick - Damn
Frank Ocean - Blonde

Trip by Jhene Aiko is cool too, but it got alot of forgettable tracks

i never enjoy the new stuff
i normally only listen to new rap albums once or twice

I've bumped reggae for a bit i've heard the collab album good music came from that genre i've mostly just bumped Bob Marley

So mmaybe you are just maturing and getting wiser and need something a bit more intelligent

i say you go back and start from the past and listen to that raw hiphop

all the bolded ones i've heard Kendrick, Frank in particular dropped really memorable and dope projects the rest are dope also i'll check out the ones i haven't heard
