How about an overall points system?

Win an audio tournament = 20 points
Win a written tournament = 15 points
Win an audio battle = 10 points
Win a written battle = 5 points
Mixtape rating (average rating of first 3 reviews) = average rating is that amount of points

We could have a thread with all active studio members in, like a league table thing. You win a Mod adds the points and moves your position etc....

Then if you sign up for a tournament the higher you are the better seeded you are.
And top 3 of each month say can have a prize.

Thoughts??

Your on to something...... but i honestly think ppl dont care about a point system on a website. Maybe have a mixtape tournament and all the best songs get thrown on a mixtape hosted by a DJ here on HQ... all beats done by the dj and all mixing and mastering done by dj. I know that sounds like a alot to do but in the end thats good publicity for the dj... the artists who win and the HQ. To achieve that though this is only my opinion we should have studio sessions on stickam.. that is also another way too bring in new members and artist along with new producers and djs. Im jus throwing this out there but i've had these in my head for a while i just never thought this place would get to be so dead.

Just some ideas...

The Rap Tourney - Brought in a lot of attention, until the last round.

Point Systems and Flim-flams - Meh. I could care less. Prolly the same for others. Might not need to be something focused on, now.

Other boards - Decent idea, but I dont think we have the consistent membership on this forum to warrant it. But hey, still another good idea that could be fleshed out.

My point - If more people were more active, and more active vets posted stuff on new guys giving advice and feedback, and of course if there wasnt so much Sig Pic Bashing going on....maybe things wouldnt be so hum drum. Take Baby Jake for example. We aggravated the shit outta that guy, and he ignored a TON of it just to hear some feedback. And he got better "dropping his bars". That's what most people are doing here, looking for exposure and trying to get feedback to improve. What's so bad about honest feedback and attention? Gotta nurture a community if you want it, not assume it will do it itself. If some of us spent less time bumpin' posts with our buddies, then we could be a cool place to hang out and rap in. Written, verbal, or w/e.

Also, I do like the Mixtape Idea with a DJ thing. That could be cool.

I agree with everything said here..... It would also be nice if PPl outside the studio participated and judged these tournaments. I think there feedback as listeners would also help as the listeners are what matters most. Having other artist give feedback helps but only to a certain extent but with a listener giving feedback on what they liked and what they'd prefer would help to a greater amount. Just like we all listen to wayne it'd be nice to actually have ppl besides the "competition"(if thats what we're calling it) helping us improve to where we wanna be and what we wanna ahceive in this hobby.

Just talked to Danny. We have a Battles sub-forum on the way and a Writtens sub-forum on the way.

Hopefully this will make things more organized and make things more competitive. As well as helping people get feedback. In the Written section you will not have an official thread, but you must provide two links of feedback from you for each rap you post (stolen idea from RapBattles). This will keep the feedback fluent.

We will set-up some more basic rules for the Written and Battle section when they are put in (probably later today).

Yeah I totally agree that producers should have it equally. Perhaps due to the smaller amount of producers there could be a sub forum where you all have a sticikied thread or your own thread for random songs you make and then a new thread each time if you wish to battle another producer with blends or new tracks?

Am I the only one who would want a Written subforum? I think it would help for all those writers who want feedback. And there could be a system to make sure the feedback is fluent.
