Thanks for the comment. For this specific beat I used Vir2 and Absynth 4 and that was about it.

Yeah, I tried messing with some brass initially, but for some reason it just wasn't fitting right. Thanks for the comment!

Mainly for a DAW I just use Fruity Loops... and I've pretty much learned to master using it. As far as VSTs, I use pretty much everything on the map, but I like to stick with Absynth, Nexus, Vir2, Battery 3 (for drums), FM8, Massive, and some other miscellaneous ones along the way. I expand as needed and mastering those VSTs is also important. Once you're able to master some of the VSTs you can virtually make any sound in the world you want just by tweaking the presets.

I'm now trying to get into Cubase - just to get a more professional feel to my music. Somewhere along the way I'm also going to learn to play the keys.
