So I just got paid a couple days ago and at first I was going to use the money to buy weed [lol] but then I thought "I'm getting sick and tired of using Adobe Audition, time to upgrade to Pro-Tools." Obviously, I could illegally buy it, but I'd need some type of M-Audio box, (and?)/or iLok for the actual program to work. So I checked Amazon and came across a M-Audio Fast Track USB 2 Computer Audio Interface
which is affordable.

Question is, would this be sufficient enough to run Pro Tools? Or do I need more?

yes, and i would go for that, that is the cheapest way to run it, but it might not give you the best sound.

Thing is though, I have a USB Mic. The Fast Track doesn't seem to support those. Would I have to buy an appropriate mic too?

Try as you might but you will not get good sound without spending money. Most DAWs are around $500 or so but you can get a DAW that is identical to sony acid called reaper for like $60 for a full blown personal license.

not sure about the mic but the Fast Track is all you need for Pro Tools, just make sure you get the "M-Powered" version of Pro Tools
