This is my first beat on here. I've been making beat for nearly 9 months now. I specialize in sampling but I fuck around with original stuff too.

Any way here's the beat. Inspired by 40 it's just a chill emotional hip-hop beat.

It sounds like a revamped version of Successful, I can still hear part of the original beat in the background. It's not very original but still sounds okay though, like a track someone would perform their own version of Successful on.

definitely sounds like "Successful" and it doesn't have enough elements to really keep the beat flowing for me. The problem I had with the Drake original was it had soooo many snares but not really anything else to compliment the snares or take your mind off the ever repeating snare loop and this gives me the same vibe. it doesn't take long for the snare loop to start to eat at me and becomes too much. I like the idea, and the soundscape type vibe it has, but that snare loop makes this one something I just can't vibe with

I agree with what others have said about the snare, it grated on me hugely by the end, because the rest is so minimalistic there's little to keep you from becoming focused on the repetition of the drum pattern.

However, I do like the vibe you went for, and funnily enough, I could see Drake over it doing his introspective thing.

3/5 for something different, but I'd definitely switch it up a little more in future.

Overall: 2/5, Melodies are ok. Again, sounds too much like "Successful", but I can see what you tried to do here. Snare sounds too synthetic. You got a more realistic sounding set of drums? Can you change the kick to an 808 kick and produce something better? The wind instrument isnt bad and I think this beat kinda works with everything you put on the table, just needs more elements to "fill it out" and make it go that last few feet to the finish line.
