Re: [Album] MYKILL - The Life and Times of Mykill mcFly

Review of The Life and Time of Mykill Mcfly
      Rated 7.5/10 (Good Album)

      1. Intro to the intro – Production on this joint is crazy…the hook is a little silly but it works…for the intro to the album it doesn’t set out what an intro is suppose to do but it’s a good song overall…if you listen to the lyrics closely…. its lyrically on point (8.5/10)
Best Line – “On my back is the trap but never was a d boy, I grew up in the ghetto got niggas to deploy”

      2. No Introduction ft Jr Nickz – Another dope production...good concept for a track…but I wish Mykill stepped up his flow on this one….it seems normal on this track 1st verse is better than the 3rd…Jr Nicks came through with an average guest verse on this one…I know what Nicks can do and he could’ve came harder…it wasn’t bad but it was average…a little more emotion would’ve brought his verse alive. Lyrics were dope though….(6.5/10)
Best Line – “If I aint in discussion then I’m rudely interrupting”
      3. Kings Back ft McCrary – Another Dope production..this one sounded mean from jump street….Killurz never really dissapoint actually but lets dig a little deeper…Here we go again Mykill with that flow…but midway you snapped and my previous comment no longer exists….lyrics are good on Mykill part as the first verse is concerned. Hook is dope…(The Kings Back in this Bitch)…McCrary comes on smooth like a boss…Not much to say here but McCrary kinda steals the show….the best verse I heard from him today other than his verse on ‘Real G Shit” and “Catcha Freeman”. Mykill last verse is forgettable…it doesn’t take away from the overall quality of the song but it doesn’t add much. (8.5/10)

Best Line – “That vest be just a garment cuz we blowing niggas up, if you tough then nigga buck, if you want it then say whats up, if we shooting better duck “– Damn Nigga….spazzed on that shit….

      4. We Rock (Shake Something) – Beat average on this one..nothing too special..First line is funny as fuck “ hey little momma whats your name” sound like a pedophile to be honest. Flow wise you were all over the place on this one..which is a good thing…good to hear some variety in flow….Lyrics are good and they go well with the topic at hand.. Another gem of a hook…..except for the Hey Lil Lady Part…that shit is too funny…(6.5/10)

Best Line – “Hey Little Lady whats your name” lol

      5. Cypher Pt 1 ft Artille & McCrary – Damn Artille fucked the shit out of this…the best verse so far on the album except for McCrary previous guest feature. McCrary next and his verse is dope..normal McCrary but that is not a bad thing because it’s a dope verse..still on a little high from Artille verse though….Good to hear Mykill on this one…Killed this shit…flow wise Artille still got this one…but Mykill verse was my favorite..didnt really like the beat for this cypher.. (8.5/10)

Best Line – “ I run the block and kick your ass right to the curb..Im just fucking with my money im considered a perv…DAMN ARTILLE YOU KILLED THAT SHIT
“ I swap my wristwatch for a toucan sam…haha…dope as line..”

      6. HARD – Beat on point….Hook is the best part of the song…verses were good but I love this hook right about now…Im starting to sense a certain symmetry to the album which is a good thing and a bad thing…(7.5/10)
Best Line – “ Yall Soft yall fell off”

      7. Open Doors - The sample on this one is crazy…im not totally satisfied with the concept on this one….it should’ve been a dope concept record…but the bright side of this one is the flow…fast and fierce….which makes up for my hope that you would’ve brought a dope concept to the table…All Verses all equally dope…(8.5/10) Favorite Song so far…..

Best Line – "I will watch them hop scotch playing games with me, time to pine box you knuckle heads time to put them to bed”

      8. Life and the Times – One of the best hooks on the album…just puts you in a zone almost like hypnosis…”every single second I’m wrecking I keep em guessing”…that beginning flow is dope as fuck and probably the best flow at this point on the entire album…Peep the flow on the second verse equally as dope..I love that shit…..Lyrically its dope…and Life and Time is a joint that I had from before and it still sounds as good as the first time I heard it…LMI being represented well right here.. (9/10) Another Dope Production

Best Line “ every single second im wrecking I keep em guessing, im pressing no I impress everyone has learned their lesson.

      9. Real G Shit ft Mc Crary & Cli-City – Dope Hook….Dope ProdctuionMykill starts this one strong….I love this song and this is one of the songs I know word for word….McCrary’s best verse and also the best verse in the song..you don’t believe me…listen again..he attacks this shit like a fucking monster…”Keep your eyes on the sparrow’…Love this fucking verse and this made me a real McCrary fan….#nodickriding…Cli-City did his thing…. (8/10)

Best Line “You niggas is fuck food watch as I chuck you off the mountain”

      10. Cypher Pt 2. – Was hoping for another Artille verse to be honest…I don’t know who the first guy is but he can rap…he bodied this shit as much as Artille but Artille voice is dope….his verse was flow wise better though….Mykill is next and he bodies the cypher again…impressed its hard to have to dope verse on the same beat..and he killed it…lyrically niggas sleep on mykill but his lyrics are dope…Flow was the most avg part of this but it wasn’t terrible just normal…(7.5/10)

Best Line -“man you aint even nice, quit with the music…ha choo. Sorry im allergic to bullshit”

      11. All I Want – I used to like this hook but in between the album it sounds amateur…..Mykill starts this one strong…up to this point if you think Mykill can’t rap..your either deaf or dumb…Cli-City did aiight on this…(7/10)

Best line – “They talk about it real good but they aint about….they never walked the real hood they just aint around it”

      *Ex Girl Called Intermission*

---------- Post added at 09:03 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:27 PM ----------

      12. Epic – Dope Production. Sick Song right here…..Mykill swagged surfed the shit out of this song….Lyrics are dope…flow was dope…Honeslty….flow and lyrics from the beginning to end was impeccable…dope concept… (9/10)

Best Line - “Dog I heard your last shit, weakest thing ever..I could kick my shoes off and still do something better..

      13. Props on the shoutout on this one…Production on this one is funky….I like it…this was a bright spot in the album….never hear Mykill on production like this and its refreshing…..lyrics on point as normal….”No Shoes” (9/10)
Best Line – “Kicking bitches off no shoes”

      14. Eternally I’m – From jump street…I love this song…Swagger Like Us type of vibe…..Mykill standout on this one..I know his verse word for word……Cli-City bats next…..he was aiight…..I heard two verses for McCrary for this beat..and I must admit both were equally dope….he did this thing on this...Sentus bodied the shit out of this beat….I like his verse the most…(8.5/10)

Best Line – “Dopeness personified, too early for a sonogram you niggas can’t see the kid, that’s word to my momma I’m….

      15. He Aint Lyrical – DOPEST FUCKING TRACK ON THE ALBUM…..DARK EIRRY and FUCKING CRAZY!......ok maybe not the dopest but its crazy…Production here is crazy. (9/10)

Best Line - “So shady I’m like slim”

      16. The Greatest – Dope Hook….and a bold statement…the verse did back up the hook though…but it didn’t dismiss them…lyrics…stuck on the hook….Im the greatest though Mykill not you….

      17. Wrong Hook – “Im the king of the mountain mykill Kilimanjaro” – Damn what a way to start…flow is dope…..don’t like the hook that much on this one…but I like this song a lot…a whole lot…..man I wish you hit me up to be on this one…this one is a banger and I honestly believe that this one could’ve been the single…love it….the concept is crazy…..about the wrong hook shit…great track…The Rock reference were memorable…didn’t catch that until the end…the hook is dope..it tied the song well….I really fuck with this track…..production is great on this by the way…(9.5/10)

Best Line – “Im the king of the mountain mykill Kilimanjaro” …Love that line…

      18. Dirty Laundry – Dope Production!....Your confidence is something that brings your records to life…lyrically the things you say are masked behind your voice and delivery…but lyrically your doper than we give you credit for…..this song is a great example of great lyrics…..Dope hook and ….Man…I wish you sent this one too…..great concept and the dept in this song is great…shows your diversity in subject matter…(10/10)

Best Line “you said I can get a job and be somebody, you prolly told 50 bodies like me the same thing” – Realest line

      19. Bonus Run It 30 – Could’ve done without this production..pretty annoying…I don’t like this one..(5/10)..didnt listen this one all the way through…wasn’t feeling it plus I replayed that Dirty Laundry track like 10 times…

tell her to get off the phone so u can finish lol

Honestly if I could do it again, I'd package the cyphers into 1, drop We Rock and Open Doors. I think it plays better with that set up, but meh. its already done

Re: [Album] MYKILL - The Life and Times of Mykill mcFly

Honestly bro....this is real shit.....this tape/mixtape...whatever the fuck you wanna call this is fantastic...im not saying this from a unprofessional stand point...this is better than alot of rappers projects....its sonically intact...lyrically above average...your only downfall is improving your flow...but its solid...probably the first album from a non professional I enjoyed this much....I peep Mc Crary tape..but imma do a full review because this was pure genius...great song structure...you are good at making songs.....7.5/10 might seem low but that is the same score I gave Jay Rock Follow Me Home..this is equally as dope.....very solid work..and i honestly didnt think this was gonna be this dope....but It was a great attempt....i cant imagine if you got a deal and spent some real time making music.....you got a talent..improve on it...perfect your flow...and your making all your bars fit......good work...

Open Doors, Dirty Laundry, Wrong Hook, and The Life and Times are my favorite tracks..I though my tape was ready...now a nigga have to go back and grind..because this tape set the standard to where my tape has to be......"In My Own Words though"

Re: [Album] MYKILL - The Life and Times of Mykill mcFly

              1. Intro To The Intro - Intro this song rode on a bit too long. The first verse was on point... but when it got to the hook I felt like the song was a parody.... idk. The second first had some dope lyricism and flow. "I'm making a fresh imprint, I'm forging a new blueprint" Dope. 6.5/10 ('Cause of the hook mostly).
              2. No Introductions Necessary Ft JR Nicks - "Told 'em shut the fuck 'cause a nigga still flagrant" Rofl went the fuck off. JR Nicks had a dope flow. Wish he had more energy though, it would've brought his verse to the next level. He had dope lyrics too, damn. Reminds me of TI. 8/10.
              3. King's Back Ft MC_Crary - Energy was lacking here Mykill..... you seemed really bored. Made it hard for me to even get into your verse. Your lyrics were pretty good though.. "Watch where you falling, don't get blood on my Lacoste" Went ignant on this Crary, hell yeah.... 7/10.
              4. We Rock (Shake Sumtin') - Love the vibe of this. Dope beat with a blend of a nice choice of effects to bring it all together. Lyrics fit the track really well. Flow was on point all throughout too. 8.5/10.
              5. Cypher Pt 1 - Artille went the fuck in.... Best feature verse on the album thus far. Damn flow and lyrics toooo dope. Crary had a fun flow, I liked it. His vocals seemed a bit low compared to Artille's. Mykill the start of your verse was dope, then towards the end it started sounding weird. Like the vocals slowly got lower. "Beat is like a Pharoah, 'cause I put it in a tomb" DAMN. 7.5/10.
              6. H.A.R.D. - "Y'all can keep on prayin' 'cause Imma keep on winning" swaggggggggggg. I liked the verse, good concept for the Life And Times..... 9/10.
              7. Open Doors - From the start of this song, I could tell this song didn't fit in the with the rest. Messed up the flow of the album. Flow was something different on this than you normally do. I wasn't really vibing with this at all though, can't lie. 4/10.
              8. Life and the Time - Some trap sounding type shit..... Love the agressive flow at the start. Dope lyrics on this too, nice lyricism. 8/10.
              9. Real G Shit Ft Cli-City, MC-Crary - "Real G shit, man we ain't playin' witcha" Crary had the typical 'Crary flow' imo. He had some ill lyrics. Cli............. gawd damn. He went the fuck in and made sure he had the best verse on this shit. Respect damn. 8/10 (10/10 Cli verse).
              10. Cypher Pt 2 - Broc's vocals were a little low. He had ill wordplay damn, dope flow too. You went in for awhile Mykill but didn't really get anything out of your verse or nothing that caught my attention. Average verse. 6/10 (8.5 Broc verse).
              11. All I Want Ft Cli-City - The singing sounded real amaetur on this, you should cut back on the singing besides as background when it sounds dope for you.... Your rapping didn't get dope until like 1:52 and that was like the end of your verse... "Flu season in the hood" Lol it sounded like you were sick at first. Quality was kinda low on this for Cli. He had a dope verse though. 7/10.
              12. Epic - The flow on this was sick, had me bobbin' my head.. "Perfection is certain" Good mindset, real shit. Dope song... Love the background vocals throughout the verse. 8.5/10.
              13. No Shoes - Love the high horse you were on, on this track. "Fuck you" attitude brought some dope rhymes out. The "Give me my crown... thank you" part made me chuckle lol. Nice shit, cool concept. 8/10.
              14. Eternally, I'm Ft Cli-City, MC_Crary, Sentus - The beat on this, wow.... Mykill you had a dope flow. You executed the hook on this nicely as well. Props. "By the way I treat these 16's you would think I hate adolescenes" DAMN CLI. You had some shit to say on this one.... I fuck with it. Perfect verse man. Crary damn.. Not sure if this or King's Back is your best verse on the album. This is dope Crary.. Sentus talking was awkward lol. His verse was sick though. He's been stuck on that verse a lot lately though. Lyrics always dope, always. Sick posse cut here..... 9/10.
              15. He's Not Lyrical - This verse mixed with the flow was enough to be a sick track. 7/10.
              16. The Greatest - This song doesn't fit in with this rest of the album like Open Doors. Wasn't really feeling this track all the way through though. It had some sick parts, then others I wasn't digging. 5/10.
              17. Wrong Hook - "No flows that are borrowed" dope.... Concept is kind a weird to me lol. This track is whatever to me. 5/10.
              18. - Dirty Laundry - First verse was good. Second verse was all over the place. Not sure what happened. Hook was pretty dope... Trying to do some WTT type shit on here I see with the silence then coming back with a whole new beat lol. When the deep voice came in, that shit was trill as fuck. Dopeeeeeeeeee.
19 . Run It 3.0 (Bonus) - This beat, damn. Liked the political shit you talked about.... real shit. I've personally been starting to follow the whole election shit a lot lately. The 2nd verse was tough. "Never liked your whole style, or a damn thing you do." 8/10.

Overall it was a good project. A couple tracks I pointed out that throw off the groove of the album could've been done without. Your overall flow is getting better in general, you're branching out to more flows more often, but sometimes it's still off and still awkward. You're slowing down your flow and speeding up all through songs in random places and throwing off the vibe of the whole flow imo. It's getting better though. Lyrics were on point. But sometimes your lyrics are just blah and I'll get lost in the beat and something and forget to pay attention to your lyrics. Features were all on point. Mastering was good, and you brought a few songs to the next level all just by experimenting with your effects and using them right. Bravo overall Mykill. 3.5 stars out of 5.

this shits dope, listened to it about half way and im feeling it my man. keep grinding foreal. The more persistent with quality, the more opportunities.

(sidenote: my part of the cypher is a lil off beat, i respect its your tape, this is the way i had it lined it up tho Cyphertrack(broc).mp3 by broc717 on SoundCloud - Create, record and share your sounds for free )
