*smh* NOBODY on this forum raps 100% about what they do 100%. Dunno why people keep saying that. Guess they just dont get the metaphor at all in all of it. Too high-brow maybe?

Thanks for checking it out Noblezzzz. 'ppreesh
So? Why you gotta follow a trend? I know I rap 100% about shit. I might exaggerate a bit, but if I'm stating something in a line its true. I understand the whole "Omg I'm killing 'em/the game, I got a weapon" metaphor but its played out and corny honestly.

Em's done it for years and no body calls him corny....Although he is a FAR better rapper than I. I get what you mean though. The Album was more of a "lets make a gang of YMCMB-like bangers and fun songs" than anything lyrical and profound. I like making fun songs...

Hmm...Do you ever think people get tired of hearing about weed and bitches in your raps?

If they do get tired of it, at least they can never tell me I'm fake for rapping about it.

Exaggeration and speaking on something you've never done is practically the same thing..No RAPPER is 100% honest about what they rap about...life is an exaggeration...you speak on what you know, heard, saw, and experienced....Rick Ross can talk the coke game better than niggas that's been in the coke game...did he ever sell white...who knows but it doesn't matter good music is just that...plus we just listened to an entire mixtape by Lil Wayne that alot of people liked and fulll of shit the nigga has never done and probably will never do...

Noble: "New clothes every week, swagger on infinity" - Dripping (I'm pretty sure Noble doesn't buy clothes everyweek)

or Talk that talk and get some shots send right at yah...

Cli-City: "Riding round the city with my Lambo top down" - Pusha Man (I've never even seen a Lambo in real life)

MC_Crary: "I'll take you there anywhere, we'll share the Lear" - BTAM (I'm pretty sure Mac has never been on a Lear or has the money to take a bitch anywhere he wants)

Mykill: "Make sure I rinse the blade after making them dead too me" - Real G Shit (I'm pretty sure Mykill has never stabbed someone before"

          Just keeping it real..

            4. This hook was toooo dope. Dope beat as will. LT was alright on this, lyrics seem too forced. Nothing really memorable on your verse Myk.
            5. I don't even remember anything else from this song after hearing Artille's verse. He killed that shit.
            6. This track overall was a fail of a club type dance song in my opinion... Artille murders another verse, 3/3 so far. The feature on this was alright, he had a cool flow but lyrics were average.
            7. The killing/gun talk on this wasn't needed Mykill, can't be rapping about shit you ain't living bruh. Cli was vicious on this, damn. Perfect for this track... "Put a toilet in the booth, we don't really give a shit"
            8. Still not feeling that track at all, Crary was good on this thought. But overall this track is below average imo.
            9. N/A
            10. N/A
            11. Crary went in on this, lots of quotables on this verse. Hook is really eh. You kinda are just saying lyrics, nothing memorable, as a hook should be. Make it more simple. Juelz keeping up his streak with dope verses I see, dope shit. The whole song should've had the whole vibe that his verse displayed....
            12. SK's mono kinda worked on this track, in a weird way lol. He killed it tho lol. Really was feelin' his lyrics on this.
            13. N/A
            14. N/A
            15. Dope Cli-City verse... Deezy could've executed his delivery better. He was giving too much emotion and idk it was just weird.
            16. Finally something different from Myk... dope verse man. That verse at the start was incredible. As it went on, it got less and less dope.

Overall: It was decent. Incredible efforts from Artille, Cli, and a few other features. Honestly, I was bored with the Killurz by the time I got half way through the tape. Idk what it was. Y'alls verses would start and it would sound just like the last hook/verse y'all spit, so I would just skip it. Good efforts from everyone on this. Some standout verses/tracks, but the rest was just eh imo. I hope to see better efforts and more diversity from Mac and Mykill on there solo projects... 3/5
Thanks for the in depth review.

I kinda agree with Noble though. Exaggerating and talking about something you will never do or never plan to do is completely different. I try to stay as truthful as possible in my lyrics, which makes me a bit disappointed in my older work because I do have gun references. Rap isn't about sounding cool or looking cool, it's about expressing your thoughts and staying true to yourself. Just because other rappers lie, doesn't mean every rapper has to. I talk about life, drugs, opinions, and more in my lyrics and it suits me just fine. Sure, to talk about killing people and selling dope is good for the music, but if you don't fit the image then you will never be taken serious as a rapper. Just my two cents.

Does anyone else smell that beef cooking?

Are you trying to become a rapper?....How about being honest in real life. and allowing music to be an expression...an expression that shouldn't be limited to what you have done but to what your mind can conjure up....some people don't rap about things they have never done to sound cool...they speak from the perspectives of others and things they have seen...Most people that rap about real they believe and done (Kendrick, Cole etc...get called boring)....

I do actually lol. I buy clothes online every week, and yes every week. I'll start posting images of my new purchases in Tha Studio Index for everyone.

And talk that talk and get some shots sent right atcha? Yeah that means, talk about me and I'll send shots at you. Has nothing to do with a gun lol.

                I'm done with this though.

Rap isn't just about expressing yourself, though. Like cli said, it's also about being able to conjure and project images and tell stories. Speaking from the only perspective you know isn't being true to yourself or being a good rapper; look at Kendrick Lamar and Keisha's Song. I'm sure he was never a prostitute or female, but he was able to tell a powerful story about one. Sometimes it's good to let your imagination run free and talk about fictional things.

Lol, if this is his rappers feel, I see why only a few of them transition into actual writing.

But what story is someone telling when they are only talking about guns and killing people in their music? There is a difference between story telling, lying, and being true to yourself.

Well, there are a lot of valid, pertinant points floating around here. I can't say that anyone is ever wrong.

As for me, yeah I talk about "killing" and "machete splittin'" people, but of all that is a huge metaphor for killing rappers with the music thing, and if you talk shit about me I'm going to fight back. I can get why someone would think its "corny" when I do it because I dont sound like your A-typical D boy. It's like Steve Urkel talking about the trap in a rap song, just doesnt fit.

Never lived the suburban life ever. Everything I've done to get outta the ghetto, I've done through the hard work over time I've been putting in. Corny or not, I've been there. Seen things. Should I rap about killing? Depends on your perspective, but one things for sure if you didnt listen to the FIRST Machete Muzik tape, you wouldnt get the Mykill character.

Been thinking about it lately though... Marketing Coordinator raps coming through...

Every song doesn't have to tell a story/have a message, nor does every line have to be deep. Some songs are just meant for entertainment, and in my opinion, when it comes to rapping, exaggerating and lying are one in the same.
