  • Sentus- Gambit (EP)

    1. Intro
    2. Hip-Hop
    3. Beautiful Sorrow
    4. Cobwebs
    5. Fly Away (Feat. Phantom & Mykill)
    6. Feel Alive
    7. Coming To An End
    8. Don't Compare Me To You

This is basically just a lil tape of me experimenting with different styles and trying out everything. Also, I was tired of people asking me if I had any cd's out and not being able to give them anything. I had a couple (a lot) of collabs fall through so that's why it will seems short but fuck it, I said I was going to put it out before my break was over and that's what I'm doing. Also, the site made me turn the files from mp3's into AIFF files and for some reason that fucked up the volumes of some of the songs and I'm not sure why so adjust accordingly.

    Download/Stream

Feel free to leave feedback or whatever. All I ask is that you listen to it. There should be a song for everyone.

Downloading. Been waiting for this project.

    *After Listen

Intro has an awkward pause in around the beginning mark. For the great bars you spit, you'd imagine you'd be more comfortable on the mic. Or atleast sound more comfortable. Your flow's missing the swagger that your bars contain. Swagger not swag. You're lyrics are confident, your voice should be too cause you got bars for days homie. On to Hip-Hop. You sound great on beats that have guitars, mainly acoustic for your calm flows as on this and electric as on In the End. I like your hooks too, but once again they need more of confident swagger. I've heard Beautiful Sorrow before. Still a good track. Kinda zoned out on Cobwebs. I'll give it another listen. In the End is a good one. Love that there is a Myk feature considering how things were a year or two ago. Hook coulda used a few tweaks but that's neither here nor there. Phantom had a solid feature, especially with that double time flow. You're a great story teller and that comes across on every track. Dislike the beat for Feel Alive. More heavy guitars on Coming to an End. Bars for days on this one. Don't Compare me to you is even better. "Cause I'm outstanding like Great Depression bread lines". Sick dude.

This is a solid EP man, you hit a few different subjects. Flow slips every now then but the main thing you're still missing is that confidence. Yes it has gotten better over time but you could still improve in that aspect. That being said you're still one of, if not the best lyricist around here. Good listen here. Definite replay value.

Thanks a lot for listening. And about the confidence, I definitely agree with you. That's the thing that stands out to me the most when I listen to my own shit but I haven't figured out a way to get it to work out. I'll def keep working though.

          you want confidence?
fuck a bunch of bitches, and make them all cum with multiple orgasms.
immediately afterwards, get in the booth and start rapping, and you might sound more confident.
you and a few other rappers here in this studio sound like they gets no pussy.
ole' virgin ass rappers talkin bout taking somebody's bitch.

          YELLOW DUCK MUTHAFUCKA!!!!!!!!!!!

No. I have confidence. But most of the time I'm writing my flows off the wall so I barely have any breaths left for a hard delivery let alone a swagged out one.

Intro - I see that awkward pause thing that MAC mentioned. Maybe it was intentional, but it was kinda awkward still. One thing though Robbie, you got kinda Mykill monotone on this. I understand the vibe you're trying to portray, but it takes away from your mic presence when you deliver like that.

Hip-Hop - Mix down sounds a bit lower than the previous track. Was this one an older track? Cadence of rhymes in the verse one was great. Hook is golden. It's nice to hear you on a complete track like this and a great concept from you. Verse 3 got a little muddled in the beginning. I think I like Verse 2 the best.

              Beautiful Sorrow - ~Already Fed the Thread~

Cobwebs - Cool concept. I like the hook. I wish you took a more natural approach to delivery for it like you did with the verses on Beautiful Sorrow. Those natural sounding pauses give your flow more character.

In The End (Feat. Phantom & Mykill) - Who's singing on this? He's kinda fly

Feel Alive - I dunno about this track... seems out of place.... Lyrically its sound, but to me it seems outta place....

Coming To An End - Favorite song on the EP. Your flow seems more controlled, more natural.

Don't Compare Me To You - Sounds like a battle rap diss track to someone lol. You got that old school hip hop flavor fa real on this one. Beat and your voice mesh really well. Great way to end the tape. Bars and Flow on this sound way more polished. Was this the last song you recorded for this? "bars so hard he tried to bite me and broke his teeth" Why'd u take Apostolus off this?

              Overall:

Lyrically this stands out farther than a lot of other stuff around here. I think Sharoyce, Mac, You, and BlakeJay have to be some of my favorite lyricists on here. I also have to say off the rip that you have to be the Pyromaniac with the best work ethic when it comes to rapping. You seeming have put together a great project. The marketing package is good (good name choice, good track selection, run through flows well, titles for tracks are good). I think with some more time and more songs under your belt, you'll get to the point where your flow is 100% flawless and you sound more natural. You've improved a lot since me and you were arguing on the boards back in the day, so keep on making tracks and droppin' tapes. You're one of the few around here that has some serious potential.

No. This is not the kind of music that you want (or most of this site for that matter). Not everyone have the same taste in music as you.
