What are some good microphones to get that are high quality and affordable?

Because I would like to start recording soon, very soon.

Yeah Radio Shack, or any music store. Just talk to the employers when you go there. Tell them what you are looking for, and a price. They will surely help you. Depending on your budget, you might wanna get a foam cover to go on top of the mic or a pop filter!

Mine is just a $25 mic from this computer store that is by my crib.
I am going to radio shack real soon... wait til I get a real mic

You should check for the Sony ECM i was checking that brand out and it's kinda cheap but good quality

I'm diggin that one, and it's only $100 so thats good. I will more than likely end up with that one.

I brought my MXL 4000 for 179.00 because the Musician's Friend operator recommended it to me. My MXL 990 came bundled with the studio for 400, but you can the Mic for 60-99 bucks. Then you need a pop filter... and make sure the mic comes with a shock mount. You can also search for some good USB mics for cheap. But if you want studio quality you wanna pay upward to around bout 300 or better. I was thinking about getting me a portable field recorder with the 4 track on it (300). So whenever I get innovation when I'm not around the studio I can pull that bitch out my pocket with the beat loaded on one of the tracks and 3 more tracks available for vocals and adlibs.
