  • [EP] It's Mykill - "The Prelude"

It's that time! So initially I had planned to drop a new album on Christmas, but I'm still waiting on some features from some people and I have to push it back (yet again). So what I did before I left to head home for the holidays was assemble some songs to rock out to and give you a little taste of what AOETF sounds like. First three are loosies, the last three are definitely on AOETF. Mixing was rushed a bit, but enjoy.

Hmm... I guess. I mean I'm not trying to sound like all these miniature Chief Keefs out here... Rather sound like some 90's era rappers... Some of the tracks are dated. Made em during the summer and I've just been sitting on them. I guess it's just not your kind of music. Meh.

Thanks to those that listened. Appreciate it.

Imma review the whole thing cause I'm bored lol

Medusa: Wow that beat is super ill.. can imagine pretty much every pro rapper on it.. the beginning is pretty cool, but somehow I lost the attention through the track.. maybe because you slowed down that much? Ion't know. interesting intro tho.

Live In The Moment: that beat does impress me aswell.. I absolutely can't get into that singing part, not my cup of tea. rap could be better too, flow is on point but something is missing I guess. track gets better towards the end tho.

Dos Reyes: Wow lol. before I heard this EP, I read what you n poyo argued about and this definitely is nothing 90 era style haha.. beat is insane, although the bass is a lil too much for me. your vibe is on point and I digg these lyrics as well. hook isn't for me tho. who is that feature? dude is nice. best track to date. (listening while I'm typing)

King Kong: dude your beat selection is A1, forreal. hook is actually one of the better ones in my opinion, don't know why. Just sounds good sonically. transitions on this beat are crazy and you took advantage of it. your emotion pushes this track as well.. gotta say it again, epic beat lol only thing I can critisize is I would recommend a flow change here and there but all in all this track is really freshening and nice in general, mixing is perfect

Candy: nice 808 but thats it lol beat isn't for me, but I recognize you kinda tried something else with the flow sometimes.. nothin special for me, this track..

Watch It: do I know this beat from somewhere?? Did you post this track already? Definitely Top 3 if not the best on this tape.. I could listen to that one like I listen to Ace Hood in my iTunes lol shit is on some pro level

all in all pretty cool EP, some standout moments, few bad ones but I'll keep you in mind now (since this is the first project I heard from you).. can't deny you put some serious effort in this one

              Go & Listen ..

That's Tha Studio's own MC_Crary. Thanks for checking it out. Seems like you caught on to what I was really doing and I like the critique points. I rushed some of this, so it definitely stands out like a sour thumb.

                #AOETF coming soon.

You got some talent man. Good shit.

Beats were on point and so were the lyrics.
Could have switched up the flow here and there but not that big of a deal.
The only thing I didn't like were the hooks. Just wasn't feeling any of them.

That Medusa instrumental is so fucking hard, man, what the fuck. You were killing this shit. the one thing that does throw me off is it seems like you focus a lot on enunciation to the point that sometimes it sounds weird. not saying slur the shit outta your words, but it sounds stilted at times.

I wasn't feeling live in the moment at all, honestly. I can agree with Poyo on this one, it just sounds dated, especially the instrumental. I couldn't fuck with it, honestly.

Dos Reyes went hard. Crary, my nigga, he was going so hard but I felt the energy and flow kinda fell off as the flow went on. such a solid verse, though.

I'mma review the rest later, but I'm fucking with it so far.

The thing about "Live for the Moment" is that I made that track in the style of old '90s R&B songs. That's why it seems to sound so dated to some, because it was intended for a R&B project that I've been working on. When putting this sampling of new music together, I thought it would be good to include some tracks from things that were never intended to be on AOETF but still had a similar vibe to me. The mix of singing and rapping as well as the repeated tag line at the end of each verse give song more connectivity and play on a similar formula as a lot of pop hits.

Maybe with better mixing it would resonate better, but I was born in the 80's. I was there for Big and Puff and Pac and Cube. Keith Sweat was hot when I was a little kid, so that's probably the big reason why a lot of my music sounds dated, because that time period is a big influence. Just a little incite on what's what.

Again, thanks to all that time the time to listen. I was tweaking tracks this morning getting them ready for the finale. Let's hope its sooner than later. #AOETF
