I feel like the snare (or is it a rim shot? or hell, even a Tom... I dunno) needs to be crisper in the first beat. Its got kind of a muted echo thing going, but I feel like it needs to pop more. Melody and composition were on point. Hi-hats rolled really well.

it's a snare. it's mostly the big clap it's layered with that makes it dull.
the 50% swing is probably what made the hihats sound so good. That and alternating the velocity
