Homemade Studio Help!

I have a Samson C03U USB Condenser Microphone but it doesn't sound as good as i want it to and also my homeboy has the same mic but his sounds way better and different from mine but i think it's becuz he has a close in closet filled with acoustic foam. Also could it be the program cuz i have Mixcraft 4.2 and when i record it sounds a milli second behind the track after im done. Help? And how is your studio set up?

My studio setup is an M-Box Mini as my audio interface, an MXL 990 or MXL 4000 condenser mics,a pop filter attached to the mic stand, and Pro Tools LE. The only fucked up thing about my recording set up is that it is close to the corner of the room instead of in the center. You can always position a pillow behind the mic so the sound wont travel all over the room. Its either that or a fuckin Reflexion Filter (300.00). Its also a good idea to use a DAW(Digital Audio Workstation) with a fair amount of Compressors, Reverbs, Dynamics;etc, because they can make your vocals sound better. I got a long way to go before i get some quality sounding shit

mothafucka told you it was free but couldnt get you the link? Wow! My shit came bundled with an audio interface. You can buy an Mbox mini(329.00) or an Mbox micro(cheapet interface). I brought a recording package from Musician's Friend dot com that gave me the Mbox mini bundled , a condenser mic w/ shock mount,2 studio monitors, xlr chords and a micstand for 400.00 USD. I brought y pop filter separately though (20.00 dollars).
It requires an interface to install the full version of LE r M powered.If he can send you a link he might as well buy you an interface.
