@Dino - I've gotta be honest. I really dislike this rating system for bad grammar, ignorance, etc. My goal is to tear people away from that, not promote it.

Hm. I can see where your coming from. On another note, glad to see my idea was put on the possibilities list. I have a few ideas that I'll write up in the near future and post in this thread.

Forum Suggestion + Idea's

I wrote this along time ago before forums went down...so ignore shit that has already been done.

So i thought of a few improvements for the forum, i think these things will improve activity.

1. Well first off i think there should be a profile badge or icon to show winners from Tournements and the HQ member winners.
This should go under the avatar like a crown or a small badge. I think this would be a cool thing for winners. Those members who have exceeded 10 or more of these badges
should have Increased sig and avatar size with a custome rank.

2. I think we should have a SOTW (Sig Of the Month) i feel this would keep the graphics section of the forums very active and attract more GFX members.
I saw this on another forum ive been to, and i think its a really nice way to keep the graphics section going.
The way i would run it would be every monday make a thread "SOTW Week #1" this thread will be ONLY to post there submission and not a bunch of spam.
The thread will not accept submissions after friday. After everyone has submitted there work will be a poll in the thread with everyone's name. Voting will go
on till Sunday evening. Obviously the person with the most votes wins. The winner should get a special rank like the godfather for a week. "SOTW Champion".This wont
be included in the badge in the profile like i first stated it would just be for bragging rights. Some of you may thing that this will interfere with the Graphics tourny
but it wont.Also the work submitted doesnt exactly have to be a regulation sig..it could be any work you have done during the week. Userbar/Sig/Mixtape anything you think
could possibly win..

3. Bliss thought of something awhile back but i didnt go anywhere, i just added some of my ideas. Its a tourny for the studio, basically there are teams of 3. Producer/Rapper/Writer (Producer- makes
inturmental, Writer- writes the verses and hooks etc, the rapper records the writers material).I feel this would be a very good way to get activity in the studio again.


4. Quotes needs some improvements aswell. Quotes should have a limit of 3,meaning once someones post is qouted 3 times you shouldnt be able to make another quote.
In some threads 1 set of quote goes down the whole page and its hard to read the thread when its nothing but quotes.Also people should NOT be able to edit other people's
quotes,changing peoples words would cause problems & unwanted arguments.

5. A TOTW or "Track of the Week" would be another way to increase activity in the studio it would basically go by the same rules as i explaned for the SOTW.There is alot
of artist we have on the forums and alot of them put out several mixtapes.I feel there should be a category for Mixtape of the Month in the HQ awards.

I hope members and admins agree with some of my points. I really think all these things will increase activity. It would give members something to work to get.

Good read -Nino- and you bring up some valid points and great ideas. Although I'm pretty disappointed at the ignorance you and others showed last week I will comment on all of your ideas.

1. An awards system is already planned for the future, but will not be implemented now because we don't have anything to give awards for at this moment. As far as bigger avatar goes, I don't really like that because the people who pay money to become a Weezy Vet are already given that privilege, so giving it out to others would take away a nice part of being a Weezy Vet. We WILL have an Awards modification added in the future though. Also, Chronic recently messaged me about taking over the Forum Awards and of course I approved. I feel last time was really sloppy, but with a bit more organization and more time we can make it perfect.

2. Another thing coming in the VERY NEAR future. Wisheezy and I were speaking about this earlier. I feel a moderator would definitely have to run it though so it can all be organized, official, and nothing fishy can happen during them. We were thinking Sig of the Week, but might go with Sig of the Month instead due to lack of activity currently with the forums. Thinking about it again Sig of the Week may be better and keep things fresh because I can see a Sig of the Month thread dying after the first day. Your format is logical, but then again it would be nice to include the weekend as people are off work and school (when Summer ends). Badges would actually be good for this, but you only get one badge, but say you win it more than once it could be the badge/award with an "x2" on it or when you hover over it, it could say "2 time Sig of the Week winner!".

3. A creative idea from Bliss (where is he?), but I couldn't get people to sign up for a regular audio tournament for Tha Studio so I doubt this will ever happen. The only way it will be possible is if activity finally picks back up in Tha Studio (similar to last year).

4. Already been fixed and was a huge annoyance of mine on phpBB. I spoke to Danny about this before the new forums ever came back up.

5. Yeah, Track of the Week would be cool, but how many people would participate. Every time I mention an audio competition everyone says they have to work on their mixtape or something along those lines. This is another idea that won't happen at this moment unfortunately. However, Mixtape of the Month could be cool, but most artists don't drop a new tape every month. Maybe a Mixtape of the Season would be cool. Basically the same thing except spanning for about 3 months (an entire season).

Good ideas Nino, if you have anymore feel free to share. One more thing, ignorance is bliss. Try to stay away from shit like you pulled last week man, that goes for everyone who was involved. You really gave HQ a bad name on TWO different major forums all because you were bored.

Yea i apologize for what i had brought to LWHQ...i didnt even really feel like spamming it, it was just one of those nights that i didnt care and wanted some entertainment.
And yea i wrote this up when the forums where down thats why they may kinda seem odd.

people only spam to either

A. get 10 posts for DL sections
B. promote something of theirs
C. Some site comes and spams us cuz we did it to them *cough*

everything would be a lot quicker and the whole forum would basically be a chat and possibly it would be/get more active #JustSayin

I already said that none of this will happen. The 30 seconds between posts makes it so people don't just post random shit throughout the forum (aka spamming). So it reduces spam, that's the end of that and nothing will change their. Removing post counts is just stupid because many people post as often as they do to raise their post count, which is fine as long as you are contributing. Also, many members like to work their way up to Captain or General or even LilWayneHQ Godfather (7,000?). We could always be like KLive and not have signatures if we're gonna remove things that make this a forum.

Also, I saw that on the MLG forums they were having a poll for custom usertitles (Captain, General, etc.). And they came up with a list for them. We're not doing that right now and may never do it in the future, just saying it's possible and could be interesting.

I think 10 posts is nothing for the DL section...how about 50-75 by that many posts the members will probably always end up staying. Or at least, the ones who do would've always the intention to be a active member. The only downfall is maybe people spamming to 50/75 but that's very unlikely as no one would do all that for a song, and with 30 seconds inbetween posts they'd take a few days to get there.

I've always agreed.
If anyone actually posts 50-75 posts, then they can't all be spam. 10 is easy but if someone sticks around for 50-75 posts just for the DL section.. then there won't be as much spam.
I just got back from vacation and I see the "status" change. I'm liking that

If anything just hide the Download section until they get the 10 posts to access it so they don't know about it.

If there is no Download section, why spam to get to it?
