New Forum? [Please Read]

Hello fellow Wayne fans. Earlier today in the chat I ask what board [the people in the chat] preferred between phpBB and vBulletin. They really didn't give me a steady answer so that is why I am creating this thread. As this site grows, so does the need for change. I know I am not the administrator or anything, but it may be time for a better, more advanced forum.

phpBB is clearly the best FREE forum there is. It has a nice clean layout and it is easy to understand. While vBulletin on the other hand is also very clean and much more advanced. Unfortunately, with better quality comes a price ($250). Obviously that may be too much as of now, but I think if we set up a donations thread we could pull it off.

So let me get to the point. What do you guys feel would be the best choice for this site? If I setup a thread, would anyone donate toward the cause like everyone did 30M2NO? If we did upgrade forums which forum do you think we should change to?

I might get hate for this, but I am just trying to improve the site and its fan base.

i dont know anything about forum programs or whatever. But ive been on alot of forums.
And yes, the forum and the lay outs, and even the site, need changes.

okay first up i dont think its a good idea, well i support it i dont think everyone else will, you guys will be accused of stealing the drama will happen again, i would donate personally but not everyone else will so its up to danny really

It would not be me collecting the donations. It would be Danny if anything because this is HIS site. So I don't think anyone would accuse Danny of stealing money, he is trusted. That makes 2 people who agree that there is a need for change and who would donate.

And in the end $250 is not that much to be donated. If twenty people donated ten dollars to this site a piece, there would be more than enough money to get the forums, plus a little something extra for the site.

^This. This is not a confirmed thing, just an idea and a possibility. Until Danny comes in this thread and posts, it is still just an idea. I am glad that people are willing to support this site though, true Lil Wayne (LilWayneHQ) fans.

dog if your gonna upgrade i recommend I.P. boards. thats what i used and it was easy to use and has alot of features for members to take advantage of. It also looks alot better than most boards so to speak.

Hmm, that seems like a good board software as well. It is cheaper, but I would need to look into it more. Thanks for pointing that out though.
