Okay so I've changed the PM notification system thanks to Wish.

When you receive a new private message, you will get a notification in the bottom left of your browser window instead of at the top.

Let me know if you all prefer this, or would you prefer to go back to the other notification type Because I know it might not look great for the people on smaller monitors.

Sometimes when I post a PM I send it to myself. I don't know why and I do make sure I'm posting it to the right guy, not to myself. I also get the PM alarm after that.
