    Re: Is drake losing it?

I think ngoogs understood when I meant drake was losing it. In my personal opinion YM changes artists and not for the best. Don't get it twisted I fuck with YM but i saw some crazy potential with drake and even Nicki who seems to be YM'd out. She used to spit so raw shit, now she's talking about having a barbie flow -_- that's lame in my opinion. I'll take the "Comeback Season" Drake over the YM drake anyday.

co-sign. i do think that Tyga has gotten a little better from his debut. I didn't really like his debut all too much, but I liked him on the YM album.

Fear, Congratulations? Uh-MAZING. lately, on his features, he's just been spewing bullshit, ya know?

I kinda get it, that a lot of artists don't want you to be spitting that kind of shit on their songs, they want club banger kinda shit. Say Something was amazing, though! Time can only tell. He's an above average lyricist and he's pretty witty, but he's at his best when he's telling a narrative and speaking about actual events, fears, and emotions that he's gone through in his life, you know? That's why I don't like the Birdman AT ALL, and I cannot say Weezy's the best alive. I prefer B.o.B., KanYe, Common, Lupe, KiD CuDi, Wale... all of them are great narrators and have an actual message - it's not just the same old same old. If Drake can stay away from the cliche quagmire, then he'll be in business. He'll sell no matter what, but, unlike what Baby would have you believe, making the most money doesn't make you the best rapper. Fuck, Soulja Boy makes dough stacks....
          have you noticed that..
on featurings, remixes and shit, wayne and drake are saying alot of bullshit sort as im the best and blablablabla..

but.. on waynes album.. that is serious business
bit harsh but yeah wayne deffo goes hard on his album tracks i think his features he raps just to help get his name out there even more
meh. Ever since Tha Carter III, I haven't really heard anything super deep, except that one song about Katrina. Everything else was about how great he is. Rebirth was a little better, he branched out on songs like "Paradice," taking a hard look at the music industry's pitfalls, a bit. Prom Queen and On Fire were solid, too, since they told a narrative about love, pretty much. There was also a lot of the same old same old, drugs, money, sex, women, sex with women, sex with many women, how great he is... etc.

I like lil Wayne, don't get me wrong, I think he puts together rhymes phenomenally and is one of the best in that regard, but it has all become very superficial and materialistic, in comparison to guys like Tupac, Big, KanYe, Eminem, Common, B.o.B., Lupe, KiD CuDi, potentially Drake.. you know what I'm saying? And I mean, really, if you ever listen to Birdman talk about how him and Wayne are better than Jay-Z because they had some very successful tours and made more money than Jay-Z did this year, it all makes sense....

50 Cent is the wealthiest rapper alive right now, but nobody would even remotely mistake him for the "best rapper alive." I think right after Get Rich or Die Tryin', he was, but he has since fallen off hardcore. Hell, you don't even hear Fiddy talking about how he's the best rapper alive!

That's the one thing that pisses me off about CM/YM, at the moment... [/rant]

I don't think he's losing it. He's maturing into the game and his lyrics are sick. I think you feel this way because he's adapting to this industry, which is totally expected.
