That would be magic if Adams comes to United

Giovani Dos Santos joins Racing Santander on loan from Tottenham.

Sad he didn't get his chance.

Heard he signed a 80,000 a week contract to stay on.
I really don't see how Blackpool can afford it.

Not a good time to be a Newcastle supporter. Newcastle have lost another striker as Xisco joins Depor.
wow so there goes 2 strikers from Newcastle with no replacements.

Chelsea have officially completed the sensational £50 million signing of Spain star Fernando Torres from Premier League rivals Liverpool.

The 26-year-old World Cup winner was the subject of rumours and speculation throughout transfer deadline day, but has now put pen to paper on a five and a half year deal at Stamford Bridge.

The transfer saga began in earnest last week when the Reds declined an offer from Chelsea and then rejected a transfer request from Torres, insisting the player would be required to honour his long-term contract at the club.

Despite this, negotiations between the clubs continued and a conclusion was reached on Monday, allowing the forward to undergo a medical and agree personal terms with the reigning league champions.

And Liverpool confirmed on the club's official website that the World Cup winner had completed his move to Stamford Bridge.

The club announced: "Liverpool Football Club can confirm Fernando Torres is now a Chelsea player after the Club accepted a British transfer record fee for the Spanish international."

Meanwhile, the news was confirmed on the player's official website, with a brief statement revealing that that the Spaniard would 'defend the Blue shirt of Chelsea'.

The statement read: "Spain international Fernando Torres will defend the Blue shirt of Chelsea after joining the London club on the January transfer deadline.

"The striker has signed for the reigning Premier League and FA Cup champions for five and a half seasons.

"After Liverpool and Chelsea had reached an agreement, the player travelled down to London where he successfully passed his medical before agreeing personal terms. Fernando Torres then put pen to paper on a deal that will see the forward remain at Chelsea until June 2016."

Torres had joined Liverpool from boyhood club Atletico Madrid for a fee of around £25m in July 2007 and bagged 33 goals in all competitions during a stunning debut campaign.

Frustrated | Torres did not win a trophy in his time with Liverpool

The striker went on to play a total of 142 times and score 81 goals in three-and-a-half successful personal seasons on Merseyside.

Despite enjoying a close relationship with the club’s fans, a lack of trophies and the Reds’ inability to challenge for major honours haunted the player, who has long been linked with an Anfield exit to various destinations around Europe.

The fact he has joined another English club will be a bitter pill for Liverpool fans to swallow in a deal comprehensively becomes a new British transfer record.

Torres, who is yet to win a major honour in club football, has already amassed 82 caps for Spain, scoring 26 times.

Benfica have confirmed they have reached an agreement with Chelsea for the transfer of David Luiz.

The board of directors at Benfica confirmed to the Portuguese stock market that the Brazilian defender moves to Stamford Bridge in a deal worth £21m.

Luiz, 23, who is capable of playing not only in the centre of defence but also as a full-back on either side, has made 70 appearances for Benfica in the Portuguese Liga, scoring four goals, whilst he also has four caps for Brazil.

Their statement read, “Sport Lisboa e Benfica Futebol S.A.D., in compliance with Aritcle 248 of the Code of Securities, reports that it has reached an agreement with Chelsea Football Club Ltd. of the Premier League for the definitive sale of the sporting and economic rights of the athlete David Luiz Moreira Marinho for an amount of (€25,000,000.00 (twenty five million euros).

The deal will also Chelsea’s young midfielder Nemanja Matic move the other way as part of the deal, “We also report that this accord also provides for the outright transfer of all economic and sporting rights for the international athlete Nemanja Matic,” the statement concluded.

Thought Abramovich didn't want to spend any more big money on players. Spending 70+ million £ on last day in this window thats just insane.
